10/9/2024 4:22am Accidentally I've noticed a photo in this article where Dario Lillo is appararently racing on a prototype Fox 34 (?) fork with completely new lowers. Pinkbike article: https://www.pinkbike.com/news/xco-photo-epic-mont-sainte-anne-xc-world-… ...after some research, turned out, BrujulaBike guys also noticed it and posted some more close-up photos - the crown is very likely also new: Source: https://en.brujulabike.com/new-fox-fork-spotted-xco-world-cup-lake-plac… I tried to find some more close-up pics for spotting e.g. a Serial Number (which, in case of Fox could tell us hell a lot of more info
) but haven't found anything yet. (Sorry, if this has been already posted, tried to double-check but I haven't...

10/8/2024 12:59pm Interestingly, I view GT and Cannondale as the same as far as premium level goes. I haven’t seen them much outside of REIs for a while (in Colorado at least). It seems like PON have the syndicate as their gravity race team and Cannondale factory as their endurance race team. It’d be surprising to see them expand that with the current industry health, but they do have more cash than most.

10/7/2024 7:48pm Oh, this is my specialty. I make data sheets and written guides about buying a bike. Your best bet is finding a Giant Fathom, Trek Roscoe, or Specialized Fuse secondhand. I've even seen that base Fuse with the coil for under 1k on their website. If you're REALLY struggling to find anything you can always fall back on the Poseidon Norton as a bottom of the barrel stock build that you can basically upgrade frame up long term. The wheels and drivetrain are more solid than I thought however so yeah you're basically just looking at fork, brakes, dropper and...

9/25/2024 5:57am I had the same thoughts regarding the chain being converted to continuous rotating mass with a side of notable drag. I also wonder about premature derailleur wear due to the abnormal chain tension on the lower cage caused by by the cassette pulling the chain through. Not as much concerned for the jockey wheels as I am b-knuckle and parallelogram...

9/25/2024 4:29am I do think people are missing the fact that this style of doing it is going to certainly have an effect on rolling speed, especially in higher gears. Not to mention I hate the idea of my chain spinning 100% of the time next to pant legs, shoe laces, socks. I may be wrong but physics would say if a stick or rock gets wedged up in those delicate jockey wheels or on the cassette making the chain stop you better hope you used a small enough zip tie because if it doesn't break first your back wheel is locking...

9/17/2024 8:00pm The Lewis parts have arrived! Fitting was straight forward, aside from the lever needing a tiny bit of filing to make it clear a part of the master cylinder body. I now have adjustable bite point on my Maximas. The adjustment range is really good, when maxed out there's only about 10mm of free stroke. In the photos both levers reach has been set to the same distance from the grip. On the front is the Lewis lever with the bite point set to the maximum and on the rear is the original Trickstuff. There's a good 15mm of difference...

9/16/2024 5:28pm Great episode per usual. I really, really enjoyed the segment where Dak was talking about "decision fatigue." While he would clearly love to have someone to make some of the decisions for him, I can't help but wonder how hard that would be for a rider. There are some wild levels of trust that have developed in the teams who have line spotters, mechanics, etc.. making the decisions for the riders around kit and setup. I'm sure Dak would have loved for someone to have said, "I'm putting Wet Screams on your bike. That's what you're running." But I can...

9/15/2024 7:37am So it took me way to long to stitch these together and export it properly, but I did this test with the tyre at 18psi and 26psi, the 18psi gave the best result. Using parts on hand like some springs around 11.8 N/mm, a 250g mass and a 600g(250+350) mass. (*edit using the 2 opposing springs halves the rate so more like 6 N/mm) The wheel alone is about 1800g so total system about 2.4kg Tyre rates are roughly 35N/mm @ 18psi and 44N/mm at 26psi BUT they are slightly progressive in the first few mm plus I trimmed the...

9/11/2024 6:56pm I understand where you're coming from but he's a grown man with his own views I'm sure . If an MBA at your work tells you that you now have to do your job standing on your head you have 2 options , you either do it or you don't . Without wanting to get all godwins law about it , following orders isn't a justifiable defence anymore . For what it's worth I think some of the criticism of WB over the past couple of years has been over the top . I don't have a problem with paying...

9/5/2024 7:52am Sorry for late reply (I don't take a look here too often), but I work for big suspension supplier in automotive sector and I had a few opportunities to measure mtb shocks. I've measured my friend's dhx2 '19, my own sdlx coil '20 and brand new Bomber CR. I did a few test runs of bomber. My very first run and the last one was on the same settings, and what caught my attention was damping forces drop of 400 Newtons at 0,5 m/s. I didn't measure temperature (from experience it was between 40-50 C degrees), and unfortunatelly I can't...
