Good perspective from MW for sure. A testament to his time in the business. I'm confident Neko's race team can get what they need. It's for Anxo and new mechanic, Josiah, that fingers are pulling at my heart strings. Pro tools are damn near expensive and often, oddly personal. And, their salaries are typically well, not to be envied. Neko and his crew has done more for grassroots racing than anyone in the US, possible world, no hyperbole. If they feel comfortable setting up a GFM for the mechanics or other staff, I'm all im. The most common response to...

seems like electronic suspension is here to stay even in DH. i love innovation but am not a big fan when it‘s getting too far so that it isn‘t a leveled playing field anymore. since only the top factory riders are gonna have the chance of using that stuff it‘s gonna get harder for the smaller teams who don‘t have access to it. they are already at a disadvantage when i look at how many line spotters the big teams employ. before you could at least buy the same suspension as the factory guys. time will tell if my concerns...

I‘m going to copy/paste something I texted a homey yesterday after semis: Prediction: electronically controlled damping will shake up the game this year the same way 29ers did when the Syndicate brought them to the 2017 opener in Lourdes. Spoiler next: today in semis went Troy, Finn, Loic, Luca, 1-4; all of them on the same half second (😳), and all of them had computers in the fork and shock. Everyone else will be scrambling to get on the robot bouncers for round 2. 🏁 Today’s finals results are further proof, imho.

Maybe it was the electronic suspension, pretty much swept podium.

I put Rapha in the same category as Kitsbow. I spend a lot of money on bike, I have no less than 6 bikes right now and enough frames and spare parts to build 5-6 more, I usually travel multiple times a year to ride, Pisgah, Kingdom Trails, Sedona, PNW, 10 day Icelandic mountain bike tour etc. All that to say, I spend a lot of money on mountain biking. But when it comes to clothes, I’m not super picky or bougie. I usually buy clothes when they are on sale or when I see something on the clearance rack...

Maybe I’m backwards, but if we’re talking cars and bikes here, I’d rather take a page out of history’s books, than look to the future. I currently daily drive a manual transmission 2010 Honda Fit. It’s hands down the best car I’ve ever owned, even when compared to the brand new Subarus and Toyotas I’ve owned in the past. The build quality is stellar, parts are cheap, and there’s not a Bluetooth this or giant TV screen that anywhere in it. If a somewhat reputable manufacturer could make a cloth interior, hand crank windows bare bones commuter car for like...

i had the same issue with my 2012 impreza. only 1-1/4" hitches are available stock. but you don't need to go "full custom". i went to a custom trailer shop, discussed what I wanted, the solution was to cut out the 1-1/4 receiver from a stock hitch for my vehicle and weld in a 2" receiver. it's been going strong for 12 years now.

The supplemental airbags won’t easily work on the Matrix rear suspension but they do perform really well for this exact task. Coils definitely fatigue, older generation 4Runners and Land Cruisers were notorious for rear spring sag. I’d recommend the strut spacer and coil reducer combo if you’re not happy to crawl around the local Pull-n-Pay comparing spring seat and wire...

Looks great with the Spinergy wheels and AMP fork! I would have died to have that bike back in my university days!

Interesting divergence in attitudes towards slope guys and racers. How many people pay their own entry, travel, etc for a WC DH for the opportunity to prove themselves and don’t even qualify? Maybe it’s the difference in subjective v. objective performance and the more structured ability to quantify value? Comparing to another niche sport, skiing…Who has the deeper field and...
