4 hours ago This is basically me. Just converted my HP Range to a downhill bike, and I also have a Range VLT. I still want a third bike though. Actually have my eye on an aggressive hard tail. If not that, an Optic…

6/3/2026 11:39am Neither of those bikes are race-oriented. The bottlerocket is a freeride bike 27.5 front/rear. And the other is a Marin.

6/2/2026 5:21pm Sorry for the necro-comment, but did they ever tell you exactly WHY you shouldn’t take the shock spacer out? Did you ever measure exactly how much more travel you get?

6/2/2026 5:18pm " each new product launch is 1.25% better than the last generation that was also pretty damn good" FTFY. Sucks, but most stuff is good now, so we get small revisions.

6/2/2026 5:17pm With many brands moving away from their well-known suspension platform on the short travel bikes in place of flex stay designs, it was a relatively safe assumption these days.

6/2/2026 5:16pm Take the spacer off the 185x50 shock and make it 185x55. Here's an example, right form Vital's bike checks https://www.vitalmtb.com/community/mrmoody275/norco-optic-hp-custom

6/2/2026 5:15pm The amount of brand new Gen 2 optics still available online is wild given they stopped making them a good 2 years ago. I wonder if that made the 3 a harder sale, can't say I've seen many either

1 day ago Beaumont has zero energy. Josh Carlson did a better job in my opinion. “Not great, not terrible.” Now that he’s down in the pits with that girl, they aren’t utilizing him. WYN though? He’d kill it. More than a few people recognize this… https://www.instagram.com/reel/DX7cITLt8v4/?igsh=MWF3M3F3MGliem14bQ==

6/1/2026 7:14pm The local brand manager showed us some release schedule along with some model data here at the product launch, earlier this year. Fluid will be the budget Al model line, Optic will return to be the higher tier one, with a slightly higher main pivot (Fluids are optimized for a 30t chainring, Gen 4 Optics will be for a 32t IIRC), but no idler. As someone else said, it'll be a return to the Gen 2 ways. I run my Fluid the way most Norco employees do, with a 210x55 shock (~143mm of rear travel) and a 150mm fork. You...

6/1/2026 7:04pm My gen3 optic + dvo diamond 36 is the same weight as the status 160 + fox 38 it replaced lol. I wouldn't call it a useless bike. It's niche as fuck, but it's excellent at what it does. It's super jibby and the suspension performance is incredible for only 125mm. It's quite stiff and very burly, and rides like it's meant to be ridden at enduro bike pace on enduro bike terrain if you can hold on to it.

1 day ago Definitely been curious on trying a gen-3. I’m guessing they’re gonna be pretty affordable soon.
