If both Danny and Myriam retire I'm going to miss them pretty hard when Wyn and Flo from Fast AF* do their track walk videos next year.

Thanks for the reminder, @sspomer , that World Champs are coming up soon. Along with that event, there are only 3 World Cup races left in the 2026 season. Here's a sort-of look at what's on the horizon: Downhill 2026 remaining schedule: World Cup - Les Gets - Qualifying Aug. 21, Finals Aug. 22 World Champs - Val di Sole...

Okay, not technically a bike race, but a race against the clock nonetheless. Back in May, Alden Pate dislocated his wrist and tore ligaments in his arm during timed training at the World Cup South Korea race. Sounds like he's still sidelined from downhill racing, but he's found a new challenge: running. Here he is recently, running a 4:49 mile...
great report! del boca vista for life. if there was a fitz top-to-bottom del boca vista, it may be the only trail i ever ride.

I just got back from a week long trip to whistler where due to some family issues (sick pet) and friends cancelling last minute, I was mostly riding alone. I had a buddy join me for a few hours on 2 days, but other than that, I was left alone with my mediocre riding skills and my thoughts. With this much time alone, you tend to develop an inner monologue of Hot Takes... and since I had no one to share these with, I am coming here to plop them down. I also don't use social media because of a...

I agree it wouldn't surprise many if Danny retires, but I don't know if it would be a voluntary retirement rather than simply running out of options. If he's not on a factory team in 2027 I would like to see him show up as a privateer for a few European WC races as well as World Champs.

Good day for Ari Factory Racing in the Dual Slalom as Kailey Skelton and Tegan Cruz take firsts. (Side note: I have no idea why Kailey didn't race in the downhill, unless she's still dealing with an injury from a couple of weeks ago. She was DNS in both seeding and finals at Crankworx.)

I might be in the minority on this, but I really wish UCI would do what Crankworx and the Pro Downhill Series already do: Let 17 and 18 year olds race with the "elite" (a/k/a 19 and older) riders. They can maintain a Juniors category for the young riders who want to gain experience without having to compete with veterans...

Really heartbreaking for Gracey, in the green mid-race and then a wreck. Aletha Ostgaard takes the win. Matilda Melton and Eli Hulsebosch round out the podium.

Crankworx DH results sheets and live timing are a joke. Always have been..for years and nothing has changed sadly. Current seeding results from yesterday Canadian Open seeding shows last year's teams beside riders names..so so amateur. The lack of split times is 1990s stuff

Richie Rude posted the fastest time in A-2 Men's finals, followed by Luca Shaw and Seth Sherlock. Both Richie and Luca went faster than Dane Jewett's seeding time from yesterday. Men's Elite racing resumes with the A-1 riders after the women's A-1 group, which starts a little after 2:30 Pacific time.

Taylor Ostgaard in the Hot Seat for Elite Women from A-2. Conditions must be excellent. She went almost 5 seconds faster than Gracey Hemstreet's seeding time. The top 10 seeded women (the A-1 group) - with live broadcast - begin finals at 2:30 p.m. Pacific time.

The Crankworx live timing says Mack Manietta won the men's U17 Expert division today by more than 3 seconds. His time of 3:31.775 would have been good enough for 15th in yesterday's Men's Elite seeding. Megan Pretorius took 1st in Women's U17 Expert by over 11 seconds. Her time of 4:09.611 would have placed her 2nd in the Elite Women's...

It looks like only the top-seeded riders will be shown live today (10 women / 20 men). Also, if their results/live-timing page is any indication, their live-timing doesn't show split times, and neither do their results after the race.

The one survey question I was glad to see was the one that asked: " Have you ever purchased any of these items because of a professional mountain bike rider, team or event?" I've always wondered what percentage of mountain bike riders make purchases because they're a fan of a given rider or because they believe that the bike ridden...

JILL KINTNER AND RYAN GILCHRIST TOP A MUDDY AIR DH AT CRANKWORX WHISTLER Mud claimed A-Line today, but it couldn't slow down the athletes taking on the Crankworx Whistler Air DH, and definitely not Jill Kintner or Ryan Gilchrist, who both topped the podium at the second elite race of Crankworx Whistler 2026. Conditions turned one of the world's most renowned mountain bike trails into a slippery, high-consequence challenge well before elite finals dropped in the late afternoon. Riders faced a line that punishes hesitation even when it's dry, making today's results as much a test of composure and strategy...

The Name to Know: Mack Manietta Fifteen-year-old Mack Manietta from Pemberton was the story riders and spectators alike were talking about at the bottom of A-Line. Mack had a great race at the Canadian Nationals last weekend, winning the U17 group with a time that would have won U19 and would have placed him 7th in the Elite group. I...
