Rosa Zierl wins by 0.017 seconds over Lina Frener. Aletha Ostgaard couldn't overcome a slow first sector [Edit: apparently she crashed in that sector] - about 6 seconds slower than Rosa and Lina - and places 3rd. Nothing shocking about the result. Rosa won 4 WC races last year to take the Overall and she is current World Champ. Minnaar...

Men Elite Q1 qualifying times were fairly tight: The 20th place Q1 rider was 4.17 seconds behind the 1st place rider. Not quite as close in women's Elite: In Q1 the 2nd place qualifier was 4.07 seconds behind the 1st place rider. All other Q1 riders were more than 5 seconds behind, with the 10th qualifier being 8.72 seconds back.

I have to assume they got some rain since yesterday’s timed training, because the only Elite rider to beat yesterday’s top training times is Vali Höll. At Korea, all the women and men riders who qualified through Q1 had better times than the fastest timed training times.

Asa had a time posted for timed training at the Korea race. He was 26th fastest. He also posted a time in timed training at MSA in the last race of 2025, going 3rd fastest. Those are the only ones I checked. No idea how often he runs without a timing chip in timed training. (Oh, and he won both...

Brief schedule: Today (Thursday): Track walks Friday: Training and timed training Saturday: All qualifying Sunday: Finals Note: UCI once again is giving Elite Men and Women the same amount of training time - 1 hour - the morning of qualifying, despite more than twice as many men on the qualifying start list (104 men vs. 40 women).
