8/29/2026 9:20am I may be mistaken but it looks to me like there may be an off menu item for those who wanted the MT to have all the adjustments of the LT. If you put a 160 fork on the LT and shortened the shock stroke to 60 or 62.5 instead of 65, you could get approximately the the same geo as the MT with the rear travel reduced to right around 150, you could even go 57.5 stroke and get really close to 140 rear travel. The seat angle would be around half a degree steeper, head angle would be...

1 day ago Agree with JVP- that cut looks fixable. I use the Slime automotive strips/plugs cut in half (cuz they are like 3" long) on heavier casing tires and they work really well. They don't work so well on XC casings as the thinner casing doesn't seem to hold them in place.

8/28/2026 10:50am Patch that tire from the inside. Use a heavy duty or moto version of the old-school Rema kind that uses rubber cement. Gotta clean it, and a little heat helps, but it's not hard. Or even just throw a large Dynaplug in there (bacon strips aren't sufficient). It's not dead.

8/27/2026 4:20pm Stole this pic from the other site, but Cube’s got an interesting spoke flange system that allows tuning more compliance by moving the flange inboard or stiffer by moving the flange out. Haven’t seen this approach before!

8/25/2026 1:57pm The article outlines the details the work well. " All but two of the 327 felled trees measured under six inches. The foresters’ inventory initially tallied potential fines at around $16,000. But the state law allows damages of up to triple that amount, depending on the circumstances". 327 saplings are pretty easy to remove. I can go on a ride and lop 50 aspen saplings encroaching on a trail in about 3 minutes. Now, 3,000 hours of work was put into this trail, so there was a lot more than lopping trees, thats a lot of work. "elaborate series of...

8/25/2026 1:55pm All but two of the trees were under 6" if I remember right. The irony in that to me is that in New England they go out and thin out shrubs and saplings every single year at ski areas and sometimes the people helping to do that will make their own secret gladed spot. There are definitely spots where the tiny trees are too tight to just go around.

8/24/2026 8:01pm I think a huge part of this case involved the cutting down of some trees which the enforcers can then ascribe monetary value to. Once that is cataloged the accused can be held responsible for destruction of property and prosecution becomes much easier. So if you do happen to stray onto some unknown property, don't build anything outa wood, and...

8/24/2026 7:49pm Pretty much how it went down at my local spot. All the cool wood features were torn down by the town/state people ages ago, some of the wreckage is still there. Biking still isn’t strictly legal. NEMBA has been trying to get it legal for, decades I think at this point? Still no news. Still being ridden daily. Every once in a while someone tries to bump the process along.

8/24/2026 7:48pm IIRC, this is how Braille at the Soquel Demonstration Forest started life - late 90's or early 2000s I think. It got closed for a while when land managers found out about it, but eventually was reopened as a legalized trail.

8/24/2026 7:47pm Silver lining? That was the most even-handed news report on illegal trail building that I've ever seen. A conspicuous absence of pearl clutching and hyperbole. Maybe there's hope for the future yet.

8/20/2026 3:25pm Romy 2.5 trail soft looks good. Not that big. Not any taller than an Albert, thats for sure. Excited to try this out in the rear paired with a Tacky Chan trail ultra soft in front. Tacky Chan works great in the rear also, but seemed to wear out a bit quick. I think dual Tacky Chans really is a...
