7/2/2026 4:54pm Because all the reviews of the Yeti 6-bar ebikes talked about how great the suspension system worked. This is the first time that you'll be able to get it without a motor.

7/2/2026 4:51pm Don´t be too happy too early 🤪.... I think the port for cable shifting is hiding right there under the CS protection. I´m super happy I got myself a Rallon R7 beginning of the Season, otherwise this could have get really, really bad for my bank account. Stunning looking bike and when the sixfinitiy works as good as on the Lte and Mte: Hallelujah!! Edit: sorry can´t upload the edited Photo ... but look at the open space on the ende of the CS protection in picture #4

7/1/2026 9:26am Radial tires from everyone but Kenda, should create some more skus in rubber, but I don’t expect to see any new treads- except for 32 in tires , which will be weird looking. All new e-bike motors will all have gearboxes, freeing the high pivots but also improving the mid and low pivots : should see new framesets sooner than expected Sea otter, eurobike, and even bespoke already happened so most of the years “hot shit” is already out Shimano still won’t release new saint.

7/1/2026 9:24am Losses from bearings are extremely minimal and not noticeable. ~0.1w. The losses in an idler bike are coming from forcing the chain to articulate under tension. Most mtb riders probably have somewhere between 5-10+% loss from the drivetrain (chain). Those losses come from making the chain articulate under load via internal chain friction. Forcing that extra loaded articulation I would expect losses to increase by 30-50%. So your typical dirty oiled mtb chain goes from losing 20w to 30w at 200w chill pedaling load and only gets worse from there. 5w increases are generally considered noticeable. The only thing you...

6/29/2026 7:54pm Cannondale isn't niche at all. If PON cans it that is a huge loss to cycling as a whole. Cannondale is one of the most storied (and interesting!) brands across road, DH & XC.

6/28/2026 9:17pm Even though the radial version of the TC is a better all around front tire than the diagonal version I think it's still at its best on familiar trails. On my home trails that reward pumping and hard cornering it works great. I think the MM is more forgiving and confident on loose, wet, or unfamiliar trails. So I'll probably continue with TC in the front during the summer months and MM when the rain returns and slick sniper roots are trying to kill me. Still really liking the Romy as a rear.

6/26/2026 8:01pm Codahale, not surprised to hear this. I found the MM radial a good all arounder. It does everything pretty well and does loamier dirt in the San Juan high country really well. To me it doesn't quite have that same level of locked in when leaning feel that the TC seems to, like a DHF, but it certainly hooks up...

6/26/2026 7:53pm Ok, so a bit of a mea culpa from me. I’ve always been a bit dismissive of the Magic Mary because it’s always had the reputation of being a wet weather specialist and I never see anyone around here running them because the Front Range doesn’t have wet weather. (If it’s raining enough to count as wet then the trails are impassable peanut butter clay and/or closed.) I’ve had a MM Trail Pro 2.5 Soft on my workbench, and figured today was the day to try it -- after all, I’m loving the Romy in the back and Schwalbe’s “Allrounder”...

6/26/2026 7:50pm Sterling Foest State Park and Ringwood State Park are both about an hour from the George Washington Bridge and offer the most contiguous singletrack in the immediate area. https://www.palisadesmtb.org/ is the local advocacy group for Sterling and just opened a fantastic new trail this month. Our hills top out at about 1200' but there is still plenty climbing and descending. If your willing to drive 3 hours for more elevation there is some great but somewhat limited riding in the Catskills. Roundtop and Elm Ridge are fun and there is some even better stuff in the western Catskills that isn't...

6/26/2026 10:33am I also read 52 books last year! Well, I didn't exactly read each book all the way through. But I read the title on the spine, and if it sounded promising, I looked at the pictures on the cover and read the rest of the book jacket.

6/25/2026 5:44pm I don’t have any experience with NN or WW, but I feel like putting a TC in front with either of those in back wouldn’t feel very balanced. The TC is some big meat. That said, the Schwalbe PR says the Romy is intended to take the place of the Hans Dampf and NN, so maybe it’d be fine? I’m certainly loving the TC/Romy pairing.
