23 hours ago Romy 2.5 trail soft looks good. Not that big. Not any taller than an Albert, thats for sure. Excited to try this out in the rear paired with a Tacky Chan trail ultra soft in front. Tacky Chan works great in the rear also, but seemed to wear out a bit quick. I think dual Tacky Chans really is a...

8/20/2026 11:34am I thought 2015 Crested Butte was 3 days but I cant remember anymore. Is crankworks really going to be much better? I thought that series was kind of on a downward trajectory. Aren't they going to have a lot of the same issues everyone's complaining about, the same venues and at bike parks? I have been following EDR much more than CWX events other than 1199 DH.

8/20/2026 11:34am Posted this before, posting again... The old EWS points and event qualifier structure was a great example of a transparent, feasible ladder for talented and motivated riders to climb into the elite field. EWS points were earned at sanctioned local, regional and national level events each with their own points tier and value table. I remember on the website from 2018-2020 there were pages and pages of races you could earn points. An EWS license was about 30USD to get an account and start earning. It seemed that race organizers were welcomed with fair terms to have their races sanctioned...

8/20/2026 11:33am The problem with the Trans races is that they exist more as a "vacation" showpiece than a real race. Not saying racing doesn't happen, but they are also designed to be an excuse for people to ride like hooligans in cool places for fun. I worry making them a part of some EWS title would not only limit people's ability to participate, but also change the overall vibe of these events in a negative way. That being said, events like the Squamish enduro are PRIME candidates to be incorporated into an overall series, and could be a prime model for...

1 day ago Cool! Seems like a lot of potential here! I wonder if it would be possible to include any of the big Trans style races and a Megavalanche style race as well, or if it makes sense to do so. What was the longest enduro back in the EWS days? Madeira? 5 days of racing? These things don't lend themselves well...

8/20/2026 9:54am As a huge fan of enduro and DH, and not the uci, This news has all the fixings for a forum debate on what it takes to build a successful bike race series. And that debate always leads to one set of answers…. 1. some people with passion, and a lot of time and cash to burn 2. Crankworx 3. Red Bull or monster energy And Everytime we have this lovely talk it ends at, Red Bull flutag is still a thing so maybe there’s a chance.

8/20/2026 2:39am From ESMTB/MTBR - Fox seems to be testing new neo suspension for XC this week. No caliper sensors to be seen, battery placement on the bottom of the leg of the fork. Shock seems to be some xc-float version, not the float x that some XC racers have used before. https://esmtb.com/ya-estan-aqui-cazamos-las-suspensiones-electronicas-d…

8/20/2026 2:37am I was told no new Enduro until at least 2027, I figured it was going to be a Sea Otter release given most companies wouldn’t want to release a bike in the dead of Winter in the US. Did anyone else working at a Specialized dealer get any “When’s the new Enduro coming out?” stickers? My rep claimed he made them, but I’ve never gotten a single piece of swag from that dude in 10+ years, so it made me skeptical that Specialized was drumming up a very slow marketing campaign. In other future product news from the grape vine...

8/20/2026 2:32am I didn’t pull the battery out of the PX, but at least based on the graphics they provide, the battery makes up the majority of the down tube. So it’s not like the weight is centralized up high - it’s spread out and still mostly placed between your feet with the motor. I didn't find that just because the PX weighs less, that the battery placement had more of an influence on handling/steering. To me, the bike rode like a lightweight e-bike. It took more rider input to move on trail than a pedal bike and under heavy braking I...

8/20/2026 2:31am both the PR and PX bikes that we've had were exceptionally quiet. it seems like every motor brand has both complaints of motor noise or praises of of them being quiet. i was lucky to have the PR, a bosch and a specialized at the same time. the PR was the quietest riding the same trail back to back to back.

8/20/2026 2:30am I was chatting with teewing canada. They have medium flux' ready for shipping from BC. Larges sometime this month. Not much to swap if anything on those bikes. Pretty dialed out of the box 9200cad with fox performance 180f/r, mullet, 155 cranks, 35mm rise bar, 170dropper m and 200large. Maybe swap dh casing tires in place of the enduro casings it comes with?

8/20/2026 1:58am As someone who shot a bunch of those Vital slideshows during the peak EWS years, I recall that being the case too. For fans of the enduro format the long form coverage was great and the slideshows told a compelling story, especially over two day races. But for the average viewer or MTB race fan it never really got the same kind traction as DH content, even when the industry marketing and money was moving away from DH in favor of the EWS at that time. For those of us old enough to remember, the early years of EWS felt...

1 day ago I agree with Jessie Melamed. This is an opportunity for some sort of international series to regrow without the pressure of having to answer to a giant corporation about viewership and advertising revenue. Seems like there is a new gen of racers really fired up about the format.

8/19/2026 4:31pm UCI killed enduro as if they were private equity firm. The EWS was sick in its early years up until 2022. The highlight videos and race venues 2016ish-2022 were fantastic. UCI turned it into the European bike park series so they could attempt to televise/stream it, assuming because they could generate revenue that way.
