7/29/2026 2:39pm I'd be curious to try this. Would your bike be moving like a trophy truck -Suspension moving fairly quick through the travel but the rebound is fast enough to return to the ground so the chassis is in the same spot for the most part and wheels are just doing their thing.

I love that you think gearboxes will become ubiquitous on ebikes and will entirely replace mechanical derailleurs and electronic battery-powered derailleurs and electronic hard-wired derailleurs and autoshift derailleurs and internally geared hubs, instead of becoming one more option among a confusing sea of options and pricepoints, like everything else in the bike industry. If only it were that simple.

It's shocking because the EDR is renowned for its long, guelling climb stages where gearbox efficiency really comes into play. Really revolutionary stuff!

Ah yes that is normal - Fork speeds are often lower on compression and faster on rebound due to having less weight on it than the rear. The relative spring rates are typically softer at the rear in the first half of the travel where the highest compression speeds occur, as well as having much more load going through it in those events

7/8/2026 10:09am Uhh yeah sorry. I knew I should have clarified. The fork I usually see lower compression speeds overall than my shock but often times seem to see a bit more rebound speeds. I typically have my fork compression adjusters more open than my shock.

7/6/2026 7:03pm I would be curious to hear more on your last paragraph. I have noticed when testing on my 2 bikes with 2 different forks (fox and ohlins). I end up running less damping up front then in the rear. Are you seeing this both in the compression and rebound strokes?
