It’s definitely just a tool and depends how you use it. Hopefully these riders test in the off season and everyone finds baselines. Using data in my opinion can speed up the suspension setup process so much The way I use it for testing different bikes and parts, is that I know my general speeds comp/reb that give me the...
Yeah I saw this also. And in this thread is definitely leaning on the side of DAQ, but there’s some people out there who don’t like it and that’s Ok. Jordi in all the Fox videos never seemed to care for Daq. It’s ok, personally I know the benefits, it helps me and my friends. I know you can get...

I don't know if I could put a number on it for how long. But yeah, I think if you worked on it for 5 days and had some background in setup and bike mechanic skills, you can figure it out. BYB is prob the most user-friendly to start with. The hardest part is mounting sensors and the linkage ratio...

You can pick your threshold of where you want it to split for me. It’s between 250-350 MMS. it’s just the average speed below that number and above that number. it’s not perfect, but it gives you something to tune off and compare run to run. The low speed on most suspension will also change the high speed. But it’s...

Yeah, it’s definitely hard to calculate on those‘s metrics like rider feedback and pitch, it’s just something that I’m going to try and see how it translates when I’m actually riding. See if it gives me anything. I’ve kind of made that so I can feel those values on my bike and then when I’m helping a friend who doesn’t...

Thanks! Yeah, I was just trying to make it more simple and quick to read. I typically use this data either when we are doing shuttle runs or at the bike park. So how can I read it and do adjustments quick for the next run, so everyone I’m with doesn’t have to wait. Hahaha. Here’s another screen grab. I’ll...

Definitely agree about comparing data. I’ve heard there is even variance between the same systems and using different potentiometers. I’ve been working on my own app for MotionIQ data. I made the trimming of the run faster and also a page for comparing 2 runs. Trying some new things with “feedback to rider” also.

I strongly suggest that people are very careful when comparing the numbers between different telemetry systems, especially with the homegrown ones. Relatively minor filtering/grouping/binning changes lead to very different speeds and graphs and there isn't a "true" one. For example there can be a big difference what "average" speed is, depending on how is it calculated. My app supports both the MotionIQ way - stroke-peak averaged, which counts each stroke once by peak velocity and peak travel and what I believe is the BYB way - sample averaged, which counts every sample inside compression and rebound strokes. The stroke-peak averaged...

Credit goes to sghctoma who originally did the rotational sensors. I have ordered some linear sensors, but I don't think I can fit anything in the SC tunnel... I got tired of the cave look, so now with light mode! Also - lots of quality of live improvements for the sessions. The telemetry plots can be reordered, minimized and embedded in one another. They are also scrollable and resizable with dividers Holding down Option/Alt while zooming in/out of the plots makes it much slower and precise. Holding Shift while scrolling in the plot area will skip zooming the plot under...

I like using 95th, I find it's a great, quick number to look at to balance the shaft speeds. I think you can get used to any number, i just started with that so know its an easy one to compare with the years of data I have.

For my riding style, personally, I like the Ohlins DH38, with factory airspring, and I have the damping adjusted to be slightly softer HSC and faster rebound. The Fox DHX2 shock has a great free feeling, out of the box for me. They come a hair on the slow side for rebound, but it's not hard to get that sped...

Interesting post on IG from @Downamics . It’s a great visual diagram of how each part on the bike set up affects the other. It can also remind us how in the weeds we can get by making a change. “This diagram is an overview of the scope for using DAQ as a holistic and specific analysis tool. It is...

I run which ever works best. In my opinion I do not think there’s one brand with the best fork and shock on the market. Different brands that make the best shock and best fork.

Yeah you’d definitely need a few accelerometers to figure out the shaft speeds. Easier to figure out on fork, but shock you’d also need to include the leverage ratio some how. Like sensor on axle and top of fork, rear axle and BB. Then algorithm to try and figure out some data.
