Between The Tape Liked a forum topic Should You Reverse Your Stem? - Reece Wilson Setup Analysis
5/13/2026 7:58am If you haven’t already, check out Vital’s latest PIT BITS for a quick overview of Reece’s particular setup. While there is a lot of interesting tech on Reece’s bike, one defining feature is the prototype raised reversed stem manufactured by Be More Bikes. Reece combines this stem with high rise bars to create a tall stack with reduced reach. This allows Reece to extend at the hips more, creating a tall, upright riding posture. However, doing this causes his center of mass to shift backward, disrupting the front-to-rear weight balance on the wheels. To counteract this and redistribute weight back...

5/12/2026 3:24pm Yeah, that part is definitely a bit of a bummer. I would be curious how many design engineers and testers are above 6' in the industry.

5/13/2026 1:02pm Yeah, that was my bad. I should have put a pic with it! Was hesitant cuz not Spesh but appreciate the follow up. I still need to write up a bike check on here. In the meantime, here’s a pic of it from high country season. It’s had some parts changes over the years and more coming at it soon...

5/11/2026 10:56pm You looking specifically at that pic? If so, that’s not his bike in the pic. He’s just unloading it. In other pics from the same day, he’s on his usual bike. But to confirm- levers are not flat enough, bars are rolled back, no stem spacers for that high stack, old fork, no ochain, diff tire set up. Sorry I...

5/4/2026 1:51pm Hey John, TEAM ROBOT here. I'm curious about the new Tazer having the option for 29" or 27.5" wheels, and I'm especially curious to ask you because you've been so involved with the DH team as a mechanic and manager. And I'm asking this question as a tall person who has loved 29" rear wheels. I was surprised to see the new Tazer with the option for either rear wheel size, because ebikes are often turning into winch and plummet-only bikes, and for pure descending performance, companies and teams seem to be gravitating towards MX wheels. For instance, the Intense...

5/4/2026 10:19am TeamRobot, always love your input and questions on all the forums so I'm stoked to get to chat about this. So, lets start with offering both wheels options. This was actually an internal debate as I'm sure it is with most brands. Ultimately we came to the conclusion that giving our customers the choice will always be the best option. There are people who are very opinionated on what they want and we want to try and give everyone the option they prefer. It's not always as easy of a task or cheap as people think but we want people...

5/4/2026 9:55am Why only one chainstay between all sizes? ratios ranging from 1.68- 1.88 between sizes creates crazy different ride characteristics What was the idea behind keeping quite low stacks? Thanks for hopping on John, you are a legend.
