Relatively small changes in compression damping can change the fork height significantly in dynamic situations. That's your low speed damping (which isn't the same as what your low speed adjuster does). For a fork spring to hold you up the fork has to dive. Double the weight on the fork in a weight shift and unless the damping has enough support the fork will rapidly dive to roughly twice as much compression. It appears to be a rapid cooling thing. I could only get it to happen if I went from hot brakes to stopped. Running the same trail, same braking with a cool-down section at the bottom avoided it. It only ever happened with the sintered pads, the semi-metallics don't do it.

Hi, that's a lot of words. Nice to meet you. I don't know why you take my words so seriously, I'm just a guy who likes to tinker with this stuff and share what I've found. I've also found the owners of some stuff get quite aggressive when I mention it might be less than perfect for every rider everywhere! This makes for some bizarre discussions. The GRIPX2 for example is firmer than every other GRIP and every other recent Fox damper. The square edge harshness was a known problem and that's why Fox redesigned the midvalve in their latest...

I hate to break it to you, but both can be true. There can both be utter fanboys of anything (big suspension, tuners, products, what have you) and designs that are objectively really poor. Designs where you have to wonder how they passed any testing. Before getting into such issues, suspension setups of less experienced riders tend to have a lot of room for improvement. I think that's due to mostly two reasons: - A heap of "tutorials" are put out by people that are at least bad at explaining and maybe even bad at understanding the concepts behind suspension...

That certainly is an interesting start into a post about tone policing. Out of curiosity, did you for example bother checking the Fox part list? The only listed rebound tune for Grip X is called RF (Rebound firm). Like, it's not even a secret. You do have a point here or there of course, but the way you posted is not the way you'd want the interaction coming your way I'm sure.

Really cool. I understood (italian is pretty good but technical stuff goes over my head) the goal is to optimize suspension performance for every phase of cornering- opening compression under braking, back to neutral/baseline while rider is neither braking nor pedaling, then stiffening compression when the crankset is under forward load to maximize forward drive. I.e. theoretically providing gains on both corner entry and exit. Proper active suspension system.

Now that is cool. RC servos are pretty quick for their intended applications. This is a way better idea than wireless brakes.

My Italian is a little rusty, but it seems this was made using a servo from the RC world, connected to some kind of stroke measuring device on the brake lever blade. The idea being to change the compression settings of the shock under different types of braking events.

As a matter of fact, @TheSuspensionLabNZ mentioned that a few posts ago and had some strongly worded thoughts on the matter: "Whatever you do, and before someone else suggests it do NOT wipe the grease out of the air spring - that will only make things worse." TLDR this customer's fork is too progressive already, and wiping out the grease will make the negative air spring volume even bigger and make the fork more progressive.

Surprised nobody mentioned it already since it's a fox fork but have you opened up your air spring to see if there is not a 1inch tick glob of grease on top of the air spring top cap ? Edit: my bad, missed the suspensionlabnz post that mentioned excess grease in the air spring
