I take this more as neither one of these things are likely to happen. Shaving 20% of the Levo seems likely as does seeing a new enduro anytime soon.

Intradrive Gearbox Powertrain Tucked away in a tiny little booth on a side row was Intradrive. Turns out they're a small Scottish company that's been developing an 8-speed gearbox-equipped motor for eMTB brands dubbed the GD8. Shifting is wireless electronic, there's a 480% range, and the motor can output up to 700w. The founder said that the motors are built and wound in Scotland and that vast majority of the parts and materials are sourced from Europe if not made in-house. It's wild that my 2018 Lyrik RC2 has been on 6 different bikes and every travel config between 150-180. Still going strong 8 years later with no creaks in the CSU. Best fork of all time. (yes it's red)

If they went through the bother of redesigning the front triangle for this Levo R (it's got some changes compared to the normal Levo 4) then I do not know why they didn't decide to make a slimmer down tube with a fixed 600/700wh slim battery. They likley could have gotten this down to 19kg or so with a full power motor which would have been more interesting imo.

The best racing I've seen in ages is to be found in Jimbo Munro (and others) instagram stories. A bunch of the NZ expat summer crew (Jimbo, Alex Blanar, Finn Smith, etc..) threw together a homegrown "four cross" race on some raw tracks in NZ. So freaking sick. Sorry if you don't have instagram. Hopefully someone puts together a youtube edit of the action, but it's absolutely bonkers and looks like a ton of fun. Here's Jimbo's account.

He was hooked up by a friend with a frame company and not a paying sponsorship deal. The money is coming from the fact that since he doesn’t have an official sponsor he can plaster the frame with Kubota advertising. He even says he is going to try other bikes later in the year.
