my question is not how, but why. Why is Whiteface interested in spending so much money on a World Cup when there is minimal mountain biking infrastructure in Lake Placid and no bike park? Why did they spend all of that money, then bungle the permits and build a substandard course which they lost or gave up a portion of?

Just an educated guess here, but someone on the board or in leadership wanted a world class sporting event to happen to show they are still capable of hosting world level sporting events basically. It happens that mountain bike racing was the lowest hanging fruit in that regard so they pursued that avenue. Ski resorts and probably definitely places that have hosted the Olympics in the past get weird about their legacies and proving they still have something to offer.
local higher ups want revenue from visitor numbers?
also, stoked to see suetos through. dude rips and deserves it.
Both of my fantasy teams are all-US. Pretty stoked on not only having that option, but having enough riders to score some variety between the two. I'm not sure if Fantasy team pics counts as anything towards team picks and salaries, but if they do, I'm doing my best on this round!

Are Q1 and Q2 broadcast on tv or on youtube or anywhere else at all? I appreciate they couldnt broadcast every single riders qualifying run due to time constraints but is there ever a recap shown of it anywhere?
I thought id seen qualifying broadcast before but dont know if im just remembering years gone by...
I have tnt sport channels in the uk that gives me a log in for hbo max app that lets me watch the races live. But I'd love to see a bit of Q1 and Q2. Sometimes watching the live Q1/2 live timing feeds is more interesting/fun than watching the actual race sometimes..... maybe im the only one who thinks like that though?
We sure want to see the Q1, and Q2 it doesn't have to have a broadcast so to speak. They could just post the raw video of what they show on the video screens in the finish area. Fans could just download the video files to watch them. I'd even pay a fee to watch it. We are certainly missing out on some exciting racing in the qualification runs. We should be able to see them.

No video in the base area today. Just endless ads on the big screen.
The ever excitable Fast AF Flo had great coverage of the q2 from the finish showing the excitement and confusion taking place. As many people have said its a real shame to miss it. Even in a highlights package.

Considering how much money WBD are charging for us to watch the races live, not showing qualifying is such a misstep by them... its hard to understand the reasoning behind it. Even if they didn't show it live, a 40 minute recap episode could show the bulk of the runs!
I was using Tiz streams until recently, I think thats what I'll be going back to for the 2027 races...
30 second gaps between riders in Qualis make it hard to show much I think. That's why the Wyn TV finish line interview format is best 🙏
Size doesn't matter. Here are 2 examples that prove it:
The highest point in the UK is Ben Nevis in Scotland. It's only 4,413 feet (1,345 meters) high. And yet the UK has 10 riders in the finals today.
New Zealand's population is just under 5.4 million. And yet New Zealand has 10 riders in the finals today.
Almost 27% of the 75 riders in the finals come from the UK or New Zealand. As they say, "It's not the size of the dog in the fight that matters, it's the size of the fight in the dog."

Fast AF's previews are so professional, the host Flo knows all the riders, all the team scouts and mechanics and explains the terrain and challenges of each tracks really well. He speaks pretty good English, so UCI/Wbd should just hand him over some money to do an official pre-show
Looks like fast times today compared to yesterday, at least for the Juniors who qualified on a wet track. Earliest fastest time is about 9 seconds faster than best Junior men quali time.
It’s runs like Kai’s that make me miss Rob Warner. These commentators are talking like Kai rides for Frameworks, when if they were on site or talked to enough riders and managers they would know he had to borrow Dedora’s FW bike because his bike broke during the flight to NY. If WB wants to tell stories and create drama, then it’s crazy to me how they miss little details like that.
Fastest Junior woman qualifying time was 3:57.851 (Aletha). The first 2 women to start have already beaten that time. Raina Logar has posted a 3:50.935.

Don’t have to be Rob Warner or even on site to know that though…can’t believe there’s not at least a cursory skim of wyntv or someone involved to send these guys a note. The 11th hour build of a loaner bike is a slam dunk interest story, the kind of thing that everyone benefits from.

Go USDH!
I changed my team to not include Asa, in hopes that he does well and wins the overall.
Pretty rude of him really

When was the last time a USA Jersey raced in finals? Men's Elite.
Beyond stoked for Cole!
Crazy the turn of events today. Jackson and Amaury not making it is just bonkers!
Sounds like someone else is stoked!
I'm a major fan of the Pro Downhill Series and am so happy to see Cole in the finals.

No Jacko? Canada really shtn the bed in all ways as of late. Pulling for Asa, Wyn tv is the show, and God bless America

Gonna pull for the Windrock boys always. And Cole is one of the most genuinely nice people I have ever meet.
All the riders coming into the skinny woods after the motorway have been caught off guard by how much more speed they have from the drying track.

Pinky went down during practice. Looks like an injured leg. Rolled down on bike off track . Not looking good for him.![]()

Bummer!!!

Canadian Ryder Wilson wins his first World Cup (best previous finish was 4th at Whistler), followed by Boatwright and Forlin.

Women’s Juniors top 3:
Men Junior top 5 in points for 2026:
Women Junior top 5 in points for 2026:
Elite women dropping at 1 pm eastern time?
Times already 7 seconds faster than the fastest qualifying time is crazy

They suck at TV.
