I’m a (former) enduro racer and live near a rowdy bike park, so a big bike that I can ride hard in rough terrain is a must. Built the Madonna about as burly as it can be built and I love it...

It seems borderline impossible to puncture that sidewall, and the support must be significant. The rest of the tire didn’t feel too different from DH...

I've rarely had problems with inserts. As long as you use proper technique. Last shop that I worked at, other mechanics would bring me Cushcores to install for them.

I love that you think gearboxes will become ubiquitous on ebikes and will entirely replace mechanical derailleurs and electronic battery-powered derailleurs and electronic hard-wired derailleurs and autoshift derailleurs and internally geared hubs, instead of becoming one more option among a confusing sea of options and pricepoints, like everything else in the bike industry. If only it were that simple.

What if we tried putting a small derailleur on the front cogs, may be just like 2-3 gears, then a 5-7 speed cassette on the rear with another smaller derailleur? Same ratios but better weight distribution?
