Don't feel bad. Life is political. Politics isn't some small aspect of existence that can be sequestered into a couple days just before elections. It is literally everywhere all the time having huge impacts on people's lives. Bike materials are political. Trail access is political. The ability to afford a bike - and therefore the folding or flourishing of the mountain bike industry - is political. The existence of rural hospitals is political. Ebike motors are political. The efforts to reduce, reuse, and recycle plastics is political. Is there any sort of innovation in that lane brands should be looking...

I wrote this on Pinkbike but will crosspost here to as I firmly believe ABS should not be involved in WCDH. I'm all for innovation in DH and I am absolutely fine with electronics in suspension but I strongly believe that ABS has no place in competitive DH. Braking ability and threshold braking are massively important skill that do separate riders. Having a system that would theoretically allow a rider to just full pull brake but not lock the wheels would be a huge advantage on most tracks and certainly would for low grip tracks or conditions. Gonna be a dick and point out that if you run smaller than a 32t, you don’t need a power meter, you need a gym. Edit: it’s not my opinion, just an uncomfortable matter of fact for why they don’t make power meters for 30t rings. I’m sure there are exceptions, like people riding fully loaded 87lb touring bikes who pump out 450 watts so they can go at a walking pace. Or Primoz who apparently lives in a magical land where rock climbing and mountain biking intersect.

Charge port placement, not good for anyone outside of Arizona because water. Cheesy name for an adjustable seat tube? Come on. 9k for a base model but that wasn't surprising was it? What are you smoking brother? Jan completely changed the entire road and gravel categories. Grant’s bikes have inspired an entire new and ever-growing category of alt-cycling. I can’t speak for the others but confidently going against the grain, having some kind of evidence of why their ideas are sound, and then having the cycling industry learn more and more each day how right they are doesn’t seem like a problem. I don’t even ride those kinds of bikes anymore but game recognizes game.
