Snickerdoodle Spomer seems like the obvious name for this thing. Whatever you want to call it, I second the idea we all pitch in a few bucks and you guys buy one to test it

Added a comment about feature Great New Kid's Mountain Bikes - 2022 Specialized Riprock Review 10/26/2021 7:01 PM

Agreed. I'm all for kids having nice bikes, but that doesn't mean they have to be spendy.
Like you pointed out - buy an old straight steerer 26" fork, get that new PNW dropper, and you've got them setup with suspension and a dropper for $1100.
Anyway, plenty of fancy options if you want a dual squish bike for your kid. Nice to see something that's only 3 digits in cost.

Yep. "we're looking to develop a rider" was what he said. Tuhoto seems like a likely candidate and he's already got the name recognition among racing fans. Killed it in juniors and now needs help growing in the bigtime, . Finn had this as he's worked ... more »

Goodbye to a legend of world cup DH. Great to see your boys run out to you after your run today the champagne spraying at you at the finish line. How is it that Mick never got the bigtime factory support he deserved? He's always been a fan favorite, ... more »

Added a comment about press release Kids Ride Shotgun Launches the Shotgun Pro Model 8/11/2021 1:57 PM

MacRide is different - looks like the seat angle is adjustable on this one, which is really nice given the short seat tube on most bikes. I just bought a second MacRide so my wife can carry one kid and I carry the other. These things are awesome. Looks like Shotgun basically stole MacRides (superior) attachment system.

not sure how $250 is too expensive. I just got a Commencal Ramones for $220. Essentially this is another bike for my kid, which is about how much it gets used. So far I've gotten two and a half years use out of my original macride. Sounds like a pretty reasonable price to me.

Gonna be watching this race from everyone's Instagram account, apparently. Or it'll be Sven running the show.

In a world full of change, one can always rely on Leogang to have a crappy course. Every year it looks like they've got this track that fights the landscape and meanders nowhere in particular. The tree section looks as bad in the dry as it was in the ... more »

They still got a HS football team, though? If any fodder is needed on stats and causes of injuries...

Great looking season. With any luck, Leogang will hire Sean Leader to build a proper track between now and then

Added reply in a thread Is This the Biggest Drop Ever Landed in the UK? 1/31/2021 10:35 AM

So how big are the biggest drops riders are doing at Rampage? Because this looks huge, and some of those Rampage drops make this look, like, real big instead of huge.

This was true when hangers cost $15 and were made of fondue, while derailleurs were $80 and made of cheddar. Now that hangers are rock solid and $100 and derailleurs are also pretty solid but like $900, it's kind of a different story, though I agree ... more »

Remember Kathy Sessler's Inside Line where she said Loic was a racer the Syndicate would love to have?

Added reply in a thread 2021 Mountain Bike Team Rumors 12/11/2020 5:14 AM

You have to imagine that as long as Greg is on syndicate and keeps being a top 10 racer, it's a hard sell to bring in another WC winning rider. Being a top 10 rider and playing second fiddle to a guy twice your age who can still kick your ass on any ... more »

Added a comment about press release All Carbon Everything...Specialized's $1,000 Kids Bike 12/3/2020 4:53 PM

Why is this any more over the top than the entire Sworks series? Why does anything need to be donated based on the cost?
So for the cost of this bike you could buy 4 commencal kids bikes. But an Sworks stumpy is basically 3-4x the cost of the base model. So it's all proportional, and no one would suggest that for every Sworks someone buys, a base model gets donated to someone.

Time for some new threads in this place. What's the "perfect" race season look like, track-wise? To me, it's a mix of a range of tracks and styles that allow different riders to shine. Long, big mountain tracks that encourage conservation and endurance. ... more »
