So theres a few things - Most riders, even the best ones spend for more time on the rear brake so it will get hotter faster, and this only gets more pronounced on steeper/faster tracks. The terrain is a lot more uneven and loose which makes it tricky to apply maximum front brake for every corner, plus a rider can shift their weight backwards much more than a car or motorcycle can. The other thing is polymers have a non-linear relationship between load and friction, which means there are diminishing returns to loading the front wheel under braking. ie if...

I challenge anyone that believes they do more braking with the front than with the rear to mount some brake ace data acquisition and prove it

Specialized has always been clear that they wouldn't risk diluting the name of their stumpjumper or enduro by naming their ebikes the same thing. They have a lot of brand identity/pride/ego wrapped in those product line names. Unless they've done a complete 180 on their philosophy, there's never gonna be an e-stumpjumper or e-enduro.

Speaking of prototypes, in the vital pit bits the Santa Cruz mechanic dished out a ton of new Saint details. 12spd chain, 8spd microspline cassette. Must be close to release...

I hope it’s positioned for that to be possible. If it’s a 6500 dollar frame I really doubt it. We’ll have to wait and see. But I wouldn’t be shocked if we got another product squarely on the wealthy side of the barbell from specialized that isn’t the stumpy or an xc bike and is without a motor. at the same time they probably do want a kenevo that can span the barbell based on build and may want the bikes to have the same design language. So perhaps the enduro will still be intended to have alloy options and...

Hoping it is really isn't going to be more expensive than the Demo frame. At least from a friend who saw a prototype in a bike park in America's hat, it wasn't fully the same design, so that may be slightly cheaper. But I bet it is still developed with SRAM/RockShox since they took over the whole Genie production and...

Yeah theres a difference in handling between a 30lb bike and a 50lb bike but the Vala vs Vala Lite is like, a 1.5lb difference lmao Most of that weight savings just comes from a lighter fork, tires, and wallet due to the XX drivetrain spec. They’ve simultaneously made the bike more expensive and less useable.

There won't be any littering because anyone that drops a weight by accident will INSTANTLY notice the change in suspension performance

Yeah, I get your concern about littering trails with cheap stick-on weights as they inevitably fall off. Littering is lame. There are a lot of possible solutions to that though, by wrapping anything around the weights and the downtube, like tape or cloth or what have you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jI27HM81SS0
