I love that it's Neko Mulally doing this. Nobody else would get out alive.

Then the tyre would hit the lower crown at full compression. Extending the lowers is the correct way to do it.

Why the dissapointment? Without knowing exactly what the bike is, other than hearing info and seeing pics. The ethos/idea of the bike is probably the same? A small travel, super fun and efficient bike - Probably more efficient with this new suspension setup, as well as lighter - But probably also more capable than the previous version. I am stoked to see it, and thinking it could probably be the perfect bike to do it all for me.

New SC Tallboy dropping May 19. 4bar, more travel, lighter. Seems like to align with 5010.

To add to the other answers, the change relative to previous cassettes is that the sprockets were shifted outboard so that (I believe) the smallest one sits off the driver. This is also the reason for the loss of cross-compatibility (without modification, anyway) with original Eagle.

Sorry bud, but if you are getting to the point of ranting on the internet about " woefully anemic, made of cheese, lock ring" then yes you might need to evaluate your wrenching skills. lol Sorry you got your feelings hurt. Your rant comes off as just a bunch of lop-sided frustration. You list a bunch of things you hate yet have zero information on what bothers you specifically. There is no such thing as a perfect design, everything in life is about tradeoffs. Mechanical design is no different, both shimano and sram have teams of ME's sitting and arguing...

Calibrated Ocular Comparator is another good one. ROFL Re: People complaining about Shimano 12sp might need to put the wrench down and step away from the bike. I clean my cassette in the ultrasonic every few weeks. I have 1500miles on my current XT and that lock ring has been loosened and tightened a few 100 times, it's in just as good of shape as it was when new. 1-piece cassettes are nice, but they also are either light and expensive or cheap and stupid heavy... If you struggle to line up some rings and spacers you might not want...

AFAIK the caveat is that the company already folded and the product is no longer available and that is the issue. KAPS has been used in the past on Paris Roubaix.

UCI said no no for Jumbo Visma, they were using the KAPS (Kinetic Air Pressure System) made by Gravaa.

Wouldnt that weigh an obscene amount and make the wheel weird on any speeds? My moneys on lightweight stem protection I mean, it just looks like it's a cushcore or similar foamy stuff just wedged between the spokes to protect the valve stem:

They’ve always been this way. Besides the RapidRise and Dual Control failures, they usually play things super conservative. It’s also interesting how they’ve come up with some unique standards like Centerlock that nobody wants to fully embrace. Sram has been the more innovative company for two decades now. I think it’s literally a dishonor to Shimano’s culture to admit defeat if (and when) someone else comes out with a superior idea or standard. They literally can’t adopt it, or comply with it. But they’ll be fine. They sell a LOT of fishing reels…

There will be a push for OE spec. Much of the launch marketing was that DH proves the effectiveness of the product, but they have a place on enduro/trail bikes. SRAM buying OChain is so they can get OE sales on higher end spec. Probably reasonable cost at OE level with a complete Transmission drivetrain, and a selling feature for a SRAM spec'd bike that the likes of Shimano and RF cant offer.
