The only thing that any of these bikes have attached to them that make them actually cool is marketing. Especially from a brand like transition. Norco actually does some pretty cool outside the box stuff but brands like marin or transition make cheaply made bikes that’s survive only off marketing hype.

Running less sag makes a bike track poorly on account of losing contact with the ground anytime there’s an indent the wheel has to go over. You see the same exact issue with people lifting vehicles to drive off road. They throw preload collars on and all of the sudden they feel the truck is harsher. based on how they described it in the abstract, i'm guessing they didn't have any time zero samples. they also don't reference any compendial methods for aging of materials.

Why not get a Madrone instead of a bunch derailleurs that require a lot of maintainance and not even working that well spending the same if not more for something much weaker, soft

4/6/2026 9:28am Good spot. That is something that I am actually really interested in. Would be interested to see if they managed to smooth out the power band compared to the original Dominions. The lever looks longer with less hook, I would suspect that they made some improvements to reduce dead stroke allowing you to run levers closer to the bar.
