7/17/2026 11:36am That's kind of wild, I don't think I have ever heard of anyone wanting the RFX38 to be more linear. I have found that its really hard to get it to be as progressive as I want. Its primary reason they are adding volume slugs to the air spring now, RFX38m.3 and DH38m.2, as well as the new lowers spring...

7/17/2026 11:03am This is a pretty big deal, thank you for managing that. As an anecdote, I bought an product/company name redacted this last year. Great product and I'm stoked with it. But I paid ~225usd for it and got a 75 dollar tarrif bill. Definitely takes the lustre off of it a bit. Not product/company name redacteds fault, they aren't the ones that @+_)#ed around and found out playing stupid tarrif games. Still though, the forethought of working this out for us consumers is greatly appreciated and obviously a huge factor to keeping the barrier to entry low.

7/16/2026 9:04am I have one on my gravel bike which is setup with the ratio mod, it is not a good example of the mtb application for this derailleur as it has the gravel clutch and isn't being driven by a mtb shifter... There is a member of my riding crew, whose bike I end up servicing that has had some struggles with his. To be fair, his was one of the first run of derailleurs and we were chasing issues with pretty stiff shifting effort (he's using an x01 shifter). We also converted his to the bearing pivots, but in that...

7/15/2026 9:52pm Shots fired lol, granted there’s a lot of stuff I “hate” but haven’t owned, just been the poor sap that works on all of my buddy’s bikes so I get to deal with it like I own it 😂. Lewis brakes for example lol.

7/15/2026 7:32pm What issues with the jab are you talking about? Just curious, I have one of the first ones made and have yet to add any of the “enhancements” but I still love the way it shifts, with the UDH brace, haven’t run it without… It’s pretty rad in my opinion that every time they come up with something to make...

7/15/2026 6:18pm Just checked out the full Madrone lineup. Damn, their stuff looks good! Full mix-and-match potential for maximum bike nerding. Cooking up ideas for the e-bike... 11 speed X0 cassette I have laying around, Madrone with the stiffener bracket and short cage. Mmmmm.

7/15/2026 1:04pm +1, My jab makes everything from Sram, Shimano & TRP feel cheap and poorly made. Waiting on the silver cage DH version to drop so I can nab one for the big bike. I'm at the point where an XO or XT rear mech would be pretty well worked over from rock strikes and general wear and tear and start...

7/15/2026 12:52pm The Madrone Jab with whatever shifter you want solves that issue. I've been on all the latest drivetrains from SRAM and Shimano, and the Jab blows them all out of the water in pretty much every aspect - price being the only outlier there.

Slavid666 Added a reply to 7 Speed DH Drivetrain Cross Compatibility - SRAM shifters with TRP Derailleur?
7/9/2026 3:12pm I was told that they are compatible. I am currently running a TRP 7speed system with a sram 7speed cassette. I am not a fan of the rear derailleur and reached out to the guys at Madrone Cycles to ask about the new Jab DH and was told that the pull ratio of both sram and trp 7speed setups is...

7/9/2026 12:44am First time running a new setup with my T4V4's. I know folks can have varying amounts of frustration with the noise that hopes are famous for, TBH its never bothered me... That being said I have run my T4V4's with a number of combinations of Hope Green/Trickstuff Orange, Hope Purple, and Sinter Greens with TRP SE05's, Galfer Waves and Magura...

6/15/2026 8:51am Downtime mentioned how widespread the breeden bar ends are becoming, with people like Bruni, Pierron and many many others using them. Owning a pair, having recovered from 2 broken hands (left then right) in 3 years, I've found they definitely live up to the hype and really helped with arm pump and security of my weak hands on the bars. The bar ends are a much more interesting innovation than I originally expected, because they significantly change the biomechanics of the upper-body while riding. Stopped by the Orbea pits this weekend and they've cut grips down (pretty sure it was...

6/11/2026 3:29pm Gotta be a different surface coating on standard aluminum, my wild speculation is WS2/tungsten disulphide based coating.

6/11/2026 2:57pm It will be available to the general public pretty soon afaik. They were talking about it at sea otter this year, was told it will be available through certain authorized service partners. It’s still aluminum.

6/11/2026 9:32am The etiquette piece might be my single biggest grievance from the ebike crowd. I'm a big guy and climbing is not my strength, so I have PLENTY of experience with being passed on the uptrails by both regular and ebike riders. The ebike riders are exponentially worse at saying excuse me, on your left, or simply making some noise to let you know they're behind you. I've even seen groups of ebike riders talking and laughing about how fast they're cruising past other riders at the top of the climb. These aren't new riders. At the end of the day...

6/10/2026 9:06am I wish that was the case here, I wouldn't say that it's a huge difference but its noticeable to me, but you really have to compare new vs new though, I did a lot of tire testing at the beginning of last season with 3 sets of freshly run-in tires, 3-4 runs on each to compare them on the same...
