3/31/2026 10:21pm That’s some good mathing Robot! I was there a total of 13 years across two separate stints of 5 and 8 years. It’s a long fucking time to do anything! My wife landed her dream job which required a relocation to Nashville. I’m enjoying some time as a stay at home dog dad and slowly figuring out what’s next!

3/30/2026 8:28pm Since ceramics have a porous nature that provides them with their high insulation values I think I am still in the right here, but that's splittin' hairs between our respective opines. That it is evident on the running face of the piston does look to be a helluvan oversight, that we can agree on. I will say the caliper bores did look a bit shiny, but without having seen a brand new unit dissected I can't make proper call but I suspect the shiny surfaces to be due to rubbing related surface erosion.

3/30/2026 8:28pm Im just being an annoying ME now but porous ceramics are a thing except they are sintered from larger diameter media, under much less heat and pressure, and make great filtration devices. Porous media has not only gas but at most times liquid permeability of which ceramic pistons that we are discussing do not. These are most likely manufactured via...

3/30/2026 1:03pm Worth pointing out that they are not "porous" but they have a poor surface finish which leads to them accumulating materials that are much softer than them in the surface. It is surprising that they didn't at least coat the sliding surface with an amorphous carbon coating to prevent this. Would have made a huge difference. Out of curiosity, did...

3/29/2026 7:30pm A rebuild will take care of that. Replace the bladder as well as the all the rest of the seals. If I remember correctly the kit plus the bladder was under $50 from DVO… it’s easy to do at home if you’ve worked on a rear shock before. Even if you haven’t it’s not that much work to do it.

3/22/2026 11:00pm I have A4’s and T4V4’s on my trail and enduro/dh race bike respectively, along with a set of Kahas in my parts bin. With the same pads (same compound different shape) and rotors the T4V4’s make more power with less lever force, it’s a pretty noticeable difference over long sustained and steep descents. Nod to the T4V4 for the short...

3/21/2026 1:12pm Yep, that’s a different shock with different internal architecture and has different pressure requirements. New shock uses the new bladder pressure range. Older shocks will cavitate at 120psi and are to be set to 170-200psi. https://tech.dvosuspension.com/tuning/jade/bladder/ Also look at the shock in the picture that’s being discussed, bladder pressure sticker can be seen, it’s the 170-200 range.

3/20/2026 11:35am 6-4 here plus3 ape, and while I was gona mention that this is the wrong thread, I’d also like to mention that the geometry outliers are also hunting new bike geo to constantly find “that thing” that they’ve been missing for a while, mostly for me and I think S666 it’s a cockpit we can move around in and still control the bike. Outliers? Yes. Buyers? Also yes. FWIW: the answer is currently , NORCO.

3/20/2026 11:36am I never said they were outdated, I said their reach’s are small compared to the rest of the world for the stack, which is a true statement, their large is 474 reach in the middle setting with a 638mm stack, the Xl v10 which of buddy of mine had does not feel like a big bike, ride it and an...

3/19/2026 6:32pm lol kinda, 6’6” wingspan. Even on my Madonna I feel like I’m cramped. A buddy of mine had the new v10 in an XL and when I sat on it, I felt like it wasn’t big enough. Was going to get an XL Summum, but swayed by the new Vessel and am working with Jack to come up with some...

3/19/2026 1:53pm Not at all, especially with a 637mm stack. I already run 35mm rise bars on a 660 stack bike to get the bars to a point when I’m not in a stupid low squat when. My S5 stumpy has 495mm reach with 63.5ha and a taller stack. 1300mm wheelbase, that’s shorter than my stumpy and that’s not even an enduro...

3/19/2026 12:39pm It is beyond stupid that SC doesn't do mullet for the V10 in an XL. On what are already small bikes to begin with, compared to some of the other DH sleds out there, not having MX on a XL is crazy. I really wanted to build up a V10 but at my height (6'2") there is no way I...

3/12/2026 12:14am If you don't know what pads you're running, I would highly recommend checking. Resin pads are super common on budget brakes and on budget bikes. Here's a quick guide for your 4-piston Deore brakes, because Shimano's naming and numbering system is mega confusing: Metallic compound brake pads for Shimano BR-M6120 (what you want): D02S ( un-finned, non-Icetech) Resin compound brake pads for Shimano BR-M6120 (these suck, and I suspect you may have these on your brakes, as they're common on budget bikes and brakes): D03S ( un-finned, non-Icetech) According to Shimano, you can't run Icetech finned pads on a Deore...

3/11/2026 9:23am Some brands do. I haven't had that experience yet. It's relevant to mention that most brands want their product's review published as soon as possible to coincide with the launch of the product, ideally on the same day. If it needs to be a long-term test, then the preference would be to have that long-term review published as early as possible, to maximize interest in the product during it's retail lifetime (aka before the next update, which will necessitate another round of reviews). So the review cycle of a product typically happens all at once, with most media companies doing...
