7/8/2025 12:04am It’s the highest so far, higher than the mavens. One thing to keep in mind is that regardless of how much heat is being transferred to the fluid, hydraulic fluid, like dot or petroleum based mineral fluid, those fluids have some of the lowest thermal conductivity of any component in the brake system. It’s an order of magnitude lower than...

7/7/2025 2:25pm Yes, I agree that we're hearing a lot of different perspectives on the same tire. If I can expand on what I said earlier, I think it's actually a combination of what others have said. As a rear tire, I get a lot of squirm and fold from the Conti DH casing is I don't run extra pressure, about 3-5 psi more than I would on a Maxxis DH casing. But as a front tire, it feels wooden and transmits a lot more trail feedback compared to a Maxxis. It still managed to grip fine, I never had sketchy moments...

7/7/2025 10:50am 203 on the scales this morning, 210 with gear. I started Saturday with 27/23 in my Spec DH casing tires and was getting loud pings on rocks charging through rock gardens, upped to 29/24 and that cleared up the issue for the rest of the weekend. This is one of the trails that is partly to blame for my rim...

7/4/2025 10:14pm I personally really like the feel of the Conti DH casing, but agree that even though it’s stiffer to me, it requires more pressure than Maxxis or Specialized. I pretty much have to run 28/23 r/f to get them to feel good in berms. I can’t get Schwalbe casings to work for me, I was pushing SDH Tacky Chans to...

7/3/2025 10:33am Low hydraulic leverage combined with short levers = lower power. Attached is a chart that I put together calculating hydraulic leverage based on MC piston and caliper piston diameters. There are some obvious components missing from this, notably mechanical leverage that is a result of the cam geometry and lever length. But it overall follows what I have felt with...

6/29/2025 10:07pm Fine so far, but can't really say because I've only ridden in SoCal summer dry. Grip really shows up in the wet, and I think harder tires oftentimes feel better on the concrete-like hardpack down here, especially in the rear. I will say that the MaxxTerra rear tire feels more damped than a Dual Compound, which is nice, and that probably bodes well for grip. More info coming soon.

6/26/2025 11:36pm I mean Fox is late to the game on this one and they are rolling out a giant marketing campaign with it. Some reviewers acting like it’s the first of their kind, said reviewers probably are not old enough to have ridden shiver sc’s. I’m sure it a good fork but it’s still just a fox fork at the end...

6/26/2025 6:28pm Yes, I have gone between the Galfer wave and the TRP SE05’s. Both work great, they are on different wheel sets currently. I will replace the galfers with TRP’s once the galfers are done. I know the frameworks team was running a mix of both, waves and sharks of which the TRP’s are a clone of last year when they...

6/26/2025 8:26am Ohlins fits that bill pretty well. My 38M.2 is stiffer than my Lyrik but not quite as stiff as my Zeb. Better air spring and damper than both. Ohlins USA is in NC and really great to deal with IMO. The only downside is the lack of user serviceability but that's more due to tolerances being pretty tight and critical...

6/25/2025 10:34am Update: Got a good weekend of riding in Friday-Sunday, 25miles and 19k feet of descending, would have been more if it wasnt for the snow storm on sat. Lots of laps on the old N* EWS track, TNT, along with Sticks and Boonies and I have to say I am very, very, impressed with the hopes and what I will...
