9/18/2026 10:33pm I don’t even know if that will happen! But if I had to make a rumor, it would be that Cascade is going to make a 170 mm Tallboy link. *this may have happened at one point due to a CAD software glitch

9/17/2026 11:34pm [edit: quoted, but this is not meant in response to any previous post or user in particular] As someone who designs and manufactures aftermarket components to upgrade 'big suspension' put me on the record in their defense. I think they actually do a remarkable job at what is really an impossible task. Imagine designing something within the small confines of an MTB fork and the accepted dimensional standards. Make it light enough and cheap enough for what the market demands at retail and OEM. Manufacture and assemble it at massive scale to acceptably high QC standards, align dozens of critical...

9/17/2026 11:30pm So about a month ago I published my data logger design, latest version, which I'm calling the BODAQS A8. The hardware design and software are both open-source and can be used freely, including commercially, without restriction. I've also been selling PCBs and kits through the build website and have almost sold out the first batch, including to a couple of people on this forum. Thank you for the support and feedback :-) I'm continuing to develop the software and have some big plans. The most recent release added suspension phase diagrams, and I'm working on IMU (accelerometer) support. The latest...

9/13/2026 10:59pm Thread revival : TPU test report for the 3D print nerds amongst us. Bambu's 'TPU for AMS' is really good. 68d, shiny and slippery like PLA but with some 'squish', you can control that with walls and infill too. I like 5 walls, 40% infill. But don't use that earlier model I shared for TPU, New version distributes the loads better on the softer material. I'll share v3 on makerworld when I remember to take some photos.

9/13/2026 9:09am How many composites engineers do you think are there in the whole industry? And how many stress analysists? FWIW, from what I've heard (obviously could be wrong or could be old info) apparently Yeti's process was quite similar. Engineering firm doing the suspension (Switch link was done by Sotto Design Group for example, not sure what the situation is like...

9/9/2026 11:49pm Don't just base sizing off of XL vs XXL as a lot can be just marketing. When you cross reference geo charts, you'll find XL's from some brands that are bigger than XXL's from other brands.

9/9/2026 10:15am To make that XL Trek 32" fit me, I'd need about an 80mm positive stem and 50mm riser bars. I know there aren't that many people who are 6'6"+, but surely there are more of them than there are 5'2" people who would actually buy that bike, right?

9/8/2026 10:40pm When you are doing 5 mm per size or even across the range, yes. If you want to do 20 mm jumps between sizes for example, you're not doing that by mounting the same rear end in different locations. You have different rear ends. FWIW, both my previous and current Bird, while having the same chainstays across the board, have...

9/8/2026 9:25pm The link loaded for a second but I can't access it anymore. Man, that thing was hideous. I love the chainstay length but they can keep everything else, especially the 32s. Give us that f/r ratio on a 29er!

9/8/2026 9:24pm They will have to rethink it and also make a first party 28T at least if not even a 26T. Unless they are going 13spd and 60T in the back.

9/8/2026 12:42pm It was aimed specifically at "The bad thing about them is having to stock so many different length ones to accommodate multiple rear end lengths." from @marzbomber888 post. Stock is stock.
