I also read 52 books last year! Well, I didn't exactly read each book all the way through. But I read the title on the spine, and if it sounded promising, I looked at the pictures on the cover and read the rest of the book jacket.

I have been working really really diligently to not blame the long rear center on my spire XXL for my shit Manuals. I never really had them on lock anyways…. So I keep pulling and thrusting and ripping my shoulders apart all the time. Like trails, uphills , rough stuff , speed slow, cruising with the kids on connectors- just really diligently practicing like a proper mt bike trail rider should always do. It’s coming along too. I have that poppy at speed shit , but now I’m starting to really get comfortable with the amount of body English and...

Last week I built up my V10. Just wanted to finally bleed the brakes - Mavens. All went well till I did the piston massage. I put my old discs away, went to the levers and tried if it worked out but forgot to put the bleed block back in! I made a big mess. All the good green mineral oil dropped out of the pistons. Me wondering why it didn‘t work out. Looked at it and started screeming at myself.

Oooooh Megavalanche, always love anytime it's mentioned. Unsolicited opinion here since I've done it twice, in 2019 and 2021, and I agree with some points in the podcast but disagree with others. TL;DR: if you're thinking about it and have the chance, do it. It's incredibly fun. The thing I agree with is do not let go of your bike...

What's there to service other than lubricant changes? They look built to outlast every other part of the vehicle.

While they're saying this is a test, they added the bolt holes for the idler on all production frames. I couldn't figure out what these were for, until today. Makes me think this "concept" is coming sooner than folks are letting on.

True that, Charlie. Look at all the ebikes in for service where only the 14 tooth cog has ever been used. People struggle with shifting. That was before motors double their output. Even in the eMTB space I don't see the derailleur and cassette drivetrain surviving the power wars. Our beloved and wickedly efficient bicycle drivetrains didn't evolve to put out 150 Nm and 1500 freaking watts. Constant watts. That's 2 HP for Joe and Jane Blow compared the 1/4 HP a reasonably fit human puts out. You're simply going to need thicker cogs hanging off that back wheel. But...

Yeah it will be interesting to try but it would need to be pretty spectacular to replace slickoleum on my shop....In my experience the slickoleum/Sram butter already sticks around better than everything else I've used while also being super slippery and reasonably priced so I'm curious how much they think it can be improved on? @JVP yeah PM600 was introduced about 20 years ago now (replaced Judy butter I think!!) but I found it too sticky/tacky for suspension...lasted pretty well but definitely added more drag. I couldn't find a proper data sheet so don't know for sure but it felt...

If you clip the two cables coming from one side together and space the two pairs from opposite side wide appart enough, it'll be silent. FWIW, how do you mount non-Sram shifter on Mavens, Motive and late model Codes? Is there enough space between the reservoir cover and bar to fit a clamp there?

After 5 years of riding and living with Dominions on a daily basis I wouldn’t change a thing. Have to give Hayes credit for not following the lemmings and routing the hose next to the bar ‘because it looks cleaner but rattles’ like the two S’s
