A fitting name as that sounds like they're just releasing the same bike over and over.

I have to admit, I do not love the side profile of some of the 32" bikes that are coming out. They end up looking like XS bikes with cramped triangles and kinked bottom/top tubes. Hopefully more progressive geo will enable these things to look like something other than a 2010-2012 era niner.

Here's something neat, came on a DH Rallon. UDH direct mount Shimano saint derailleur. Not sure if orbea is the one making this or Shimano but interesting to see.

As I noted a few posts back, GoPro disclosed they are now a "going concern". I dug into what exactly happened and posted it to my substack for those interestd. The short version won't surprise anyone in this forum... -DJI kicked their ass from the top -Smart phones kicked their ass from the bottom -They never really were a technology company, more of a lifestyle company masquerading as a technology company -There was some arrogance, especially when it came to their tangle up with DJI in 2013 (which you guys will hear on VitalMTB pod soon) -They became memetic as...

I want long chainstays on all bikes except BMX and Dirt jump bikes or trials bikes. For mtb it's better at climbing and keeps the bike more balanced.

The whole “taller riders have more of their mass forward of the bottom bracket” thing doesn’t at all track for me for three reasons. First, taller riders have the same limb/torso proportions are shorter riders, so their mass is going to be distributed on their body the same way. Humans have roughly the same arm span as height and our femurs are roughly 1/4th of our height, pretty much across the board. Obviously, there is variance between individuals, but it’s not like tall people are just people with really long shins. (We’re not talking about a cromegaly, I’m assuming.) Second...

Frame kinematics that require stuffing air cans full of volume spacers and are a big no-go for coil shocks? Hmmm, I feel like we have been here before.

That sounds an awful lot like they actually didn't get the leverage curve they wanted. Nothing wrong with designing a frame to work with the natural progressivity of an air shock, but if you use all the volume spacers in the air shock you spec stock, you probably would be better served with a more progressive leverage curve.

Lots of talk about how it's 300g lighter, but in nearly the same XT di2 build, the intense spider is .2 lbs lighter than the Tallboy and 1400 dollars cheaper.

This seems like such a ridiculous thing for RMU/Dave to lie about when anyone can just take an image of the frame and plot the points with reasonable enough accuracy to check it. The CS grows ~6mm at sag when measured horizontally and ~14mm when measured diagonally.

Sticky rubber combined with open tread pattern throws stuff at you and that T9 rubber collects all the rocks and pine cones it can find. So a harder compound and lower knobs is the solution.
I think Raaw frames are exemplary when it comes to bearings: All bearings feature sealed caps on each side to keep dirt out They are easy to change There are no tiny bearings (smallest size is 28mm) They are interchangable between Raaw frames Raaw has an online web shop which makes it easy to source bearings, caps, replacement seals and a bearing press Anecdotally, I've had three Raaw frames and never had a single bearing issue.

I can comment on these setups. I have posted on vital MTB a little before and felt there was a closed mindedness to this kind of a-typical stuff... That seems to be changing in MTB circles. I am not here to change any minds. I have my own opinions, coming from the moto side of things and the trends in MTB just do not feel right in terms of front wheel grip and rider / body position. I post regularly on VitalMX and have been a motocross racer for most of my life at the amateur / expert level. June...

Surely not every bike fits everyone, but I do think people freak out over mere millemeters when the fact is - you can get used to just about anything. Its just fucking bikes. I've got an XL GT Fury with 515 reach & 70mm bars: best DH bike I've ever had in 20+ years... a 2019 YT capra with 480 reach and 50mm bars: super fun, still going strong. A size L 2023 Marin Alpine with 490 reach and 35mm...no 50mm... no 80mm bars. Super fun. I move around on these bikes, jump them all mercilessly and continue to get...
