6/11/2026 11:47pm A properly supported Angel on a winning bike is someone who has been able cross the line in the green in the past. Angels had some rough luck over the years with weird team dynamics, teams folding, and injury. I'd love to see 2-3 seasons of that guy healthy and supported.

6/11/2026 11:47pm Angel gets a paycheck, gets to keep racing, and I would imagine helps with developing the next Aventon ebike. What's the problem?

6/11/2026 11:46pm Using a picture of Jolanda Neff on a Trek on their promo shots, I guess that's one way to do it or did I miss a secret sponsor deal from Trek Factory.

6/11/2026 11:29pm this is all so stupid. the industry did it with road bikes, gravel bikes, etc. "SALES ARE HUUUUUUGE!" Yeah, because people didn't have them, then bought them, and then they last for many many years and you don't need another one. Most people who don't have ebikes are going to buy them. Most cyclists have other bikes, and based on my own experience with my Bronson, I used it for 7 years before replacing it, and it was replaced with a lightly used Nomad. Which partners with my Blur I bought used and is 4 years old now, a 3...

6/11/2026 3:47pm Hoping the vital pit bits is Spec doing proto hillbilly radial. That and the cannibal in radial would rip, but radial hillbilly is first on my wish list.

6/9/2026 10:42am As a some sort of specialized fanboy, it's really a shame watching what that company has turned in to but still kind of curious how many more models they can put out of that same frame.

6/3/2026 3:25pm I have to admit, I do not love the side profile of some of the 32" bikes that are coming out. They end up looking like XS bikes with cramped triangles and kinked bottom/top tubes. Hopefully more progressive geo will enable these things to look like something other than a 2010-2012 era niner.

5/30/2026 12:41am Here's something neat, came on a DH Rallon. UDH direct mount Shimano saint derailleur. Not sure if orbea is the one making this or Shimano but interesting to see.

5/29/2026 9:54am As I noted a few posts back, GoPro disclosed they are now a "going concern". I dug into what exactly happened and posted it to my substack for those interestd. The short version won't surprise anyone in this forum... -DJI kicked their ass from the top -Smart phones kicked their ass from the bottom -They never really were a technology company, more of a lifestyle company masquerading as a technology company -There was some arrogance, especially when it came to their tangle up with DJI in 2013 (which you guys will hear on VitalMTB pod soon) -They became memetic as...

5/28/2026 2:29pm That's a really dumb move by Canyon (unless new strive is coming), that's a bike no one want's to pedal. Released today and size M & L "coming soon in September-October", so they sold out those sizes in release day? Yeah right.

5/27/2026 12:12pm I want long chainstays on all bikes except BMX and Dirt jump bikes or trials bikes. For mtb it's better at climbing and keeps the bike more balanced.

5/25/2026 11:58pm The whole “taller riders have more of their mass forward of the bottom bracket” thing doesn’t at all track for me for three reasons. First, taller riders have the same limb/torso proportions are shorter riders, so their mass is going to be distributed on their body the same way. Humans have roughly the same arm span as height and our femurs are roughly 1/4th of our height, pretty much across the board. Obviously, there is variance between individuals, but it’s not like tall people are just people with really long shins. (We’re not talking about a cromegaly, I’m assuming.) Second...

5/20/2026 1:04am Frame kinematics that require stuffing air cans full of volume spacers and are a big no-go for coil shocks? Hmmm, I feel like we have been here before.

5/20/2026 1:04am That sounds an awful lot like they actually didn't get the leverage curve they wanted. Nothing wrong with designing a frame to work with the natural progressivity of an air shock, but if you use all the volume spacers in the air shock you spec stock, you probably would be better served with a more progressive leverage curve.

5/20/2026 1:01am Lots of talk about how it's 300g lighter, but in nearly the same XT di2 build, the intense spider is .2 lbs lighter than the Tallboy and 1400 dollars cheaper.
