Now if I put in an initial distribution of 0.78, CG height of 650, wheelbase of 1299, and coefficient of friction of 0.5 I get 0.53… there are four variables. I’m pretty sure we don’t ride around fixed to our bikes in one position. You can get even higher if you go with something actually slippery for friction like 0.2.

Have a look at Matt Beer's article from PB. At 2:40 in the video you can see his weight distribution changing in real time. That said, I don't need another Shockcraft branded drawing to tell me if I can use my rear brake on a steep trail. 30 some years of actual riding is a sufficient data point to know the answer is yes. Often and effectively.

Yeah Evil Following will be a 430 chainstay across the sizes. This way all the tall riders can proclaim how playful it is while the small riders get to feel what a balanced bike is like.

It’s weird - sram can release an ecosystem of groups with proprietary cassettes, derailleurs, chains, rings, that have stratospheric prices and persistent issues (speed, shift calibration limitations, QC issues, cassettes that need to be installed multiple times to settle, battery pins corroding etc etc), plus compromises they try and correct release to release. Maybe that’s ok, it’s up to the rider. At the same time, Shimano releases a new di2 ecosystem that uses their existing(and awesome) cassettes, chains, rings, has the industry leading shifter for ergonomics. A sealed battery compartment, but its perceived to be noisy on some bikes, but...

Parallel cam-over spring so it adds chain tension in the small cogs and subtracts it in the large cogs. Edit: pulled the pics- don't want to make trouble.

I hate to break it to you, but both can be true. There can both be utter fanboys of anything (big suspension, tuners, products, what have you) and designs that are objectively really poor. Designs where you have to wonder how they passed any testing. Before getting into such issues, suspension setups of less experienced riders tend to have a lot of room for improvement. I think that's due to mostly two reasons: - A heap of "tutorials" are put out by people that are at least bad at explaining and maybe even bad at understanding the concepts behind suspension...

That certainly is an interesting start into a post about tone policing. Out of curiosity, did you for example bother checking the Fox part list? The only listed rebound tune for Grip X is called RF (Rebound firm). Like, it's not even a secret. You do have a point here or there of course, but the way you posted is not the way you'd want the interaction coming your way I'm sure.

Came across this on Loic’s bike from Les Gets. It looks like the sub-chamber from a push 9.1 modified to fit the Öhlins dh38? I know it’s been rumoured that Loic runs a coil fork, so interesting if he’s play with the sub-chamber on a coil fork now too.
