9/2/2026 11:30pm Found this on the Evil website: Because they don't recommend different tunes for different size bikes or rider weights you'd have to assume those are for the average 70-80kg male. Super Deluxe C26 R55 I have dyno plots for both those. C26, it's very soft compression. Softer than the L compression tunes in the 2018-22 Super Deluxe Air shocks. R55 is a very firm/slow rebound tune. Vivid C22X2S18 I don't have plots for. The Rockshox Piston Tuning guide suggests it's softer than C26 Vivid R54 I don't have plots for. The Rockshox Piston Tuning guide shows it's a preloaded rebound...

9/1/2026 1:33am Relatively small changes in compression damping can change the fork height significantly in dynamic situations. That's your low speed damping (which isn't the same as what your low speed adjuster does). For a fork spring to hold you up the fork has to dive. Double the weight on the fork in a weight shift and unless the damping has enough support the fork will rapidly dive to roughly twice as much compression. With the right amount of low speed compression damping the fork will both resist enough to get you through that transition without diving as far and will partly...

8/29/2026 11:52pm I hate to break it to you, but both can be true. There can both be utter fanboys of anything (big suspension, tuners, products, what have you) and designs that are objectively really poor. Designs where you have to wonder how they passed any testing. Before getting into such issues, suspension setups of less experienced riders tend to have a lot of room for improvement. I think that's due to mostly two reasons: - A heap of "tutorials" are put out by people that are at least bad at explaining and maybe even bad at understanding the concepts behind suspension...

8/28/2026 11:25pm That certainly is an interesting start into a post about tone policing. Out of curiosity, did you for example bother checking the Fox part list? The only listed rebound tune for Grip X is called RF (Rebound firm). Like, it's not even a secret. You do have a point here or there of course, but the way you posted is not the way you'd want the interaction coming your way I'm sure.

8/21/2026 8:55am Came across this on Loic’s bike from Les Gets. It looks like the sub-chamber from a push 9.1 modified to fit the Öhlins dh38? I know it’s been rumoured that Loic runs a coil fork, so interesting if he’s play with the sub-chamber on a coil fork now too.

8/19/2026 9:11pm Not to be that guy that responds twice, but I often wondered if and how attention spans and social media played into the demise of the enduro format as well. I remember a decade ago long form photography essays and longer recap videos were the norm and celebrated, I think people's ability to appreciate that kind of content has significantly waned. Obviously that's far from the whole story but I wonder about how it played into it.

8/19/2026 9:09pm I shudder to think what that nicolai weighs, my XL Range VLT is 30kg and it's a huuuuuge bitch. I have to put an event in my calendar to eat pasta and pre workout if I want to try a manual or bunnyhop on the weekend.

8/19/2026 12:06pm Hopefully we get some kind of mashup between trans-x races and current format, some races with current format and some blind races, but straight up thinking that 1) trans-x race could be somehow organized for 400-500 riders without a gondola/lift is kind of ridiculous 2) elite field racing for 5 days straight when, they are beat up already with the...

8/17/2026 9:49pm And many folks don't want children at all. I think the real problem stems from discussing non-athletic, personal life things when the person being discussed is a dedicated, lifelong athlete and the discussion is happening in a space dedicated to the discussion of that athletic pursuit. What if your coworkers at every meeting brought up how fucking inept you are at home and that time you threw a tantrum because the sink nozzle was still set to spray rather than stream? Has anyone talked about Finn retiring to become a father? He probably only has a few prime years of...

8/17/2026 2:22am The key difference is where the main restriction actually comes from. With something like the Charger 3, the flow path leading to the shim stack is restricted, so that restriction effectively sits in series with the shim stack. With the ZETA Tune Adjuster, the ports and the fluid paths leading to them are sized so that the shim stack itself remains the main restriction in the flow path. There are always open ports, and the ports themselves are non-restrictive until the flow reaches the shim stack opening. When additional ports are opened, they essentially add another flow path in parallel...

8/17/2026 2:15am The coverage this weekend is pretty similar to how it's been covered all year. Elliott Heap goes out to rip a practice lap and talk through it, 25 minutes of practice highlights, 30 minutes of race highlights per race day, plus some interviews. It's been sick! I'm stoked the coverage is good and I watch a bunch and comment every-so-often to make sure the folks behind the videos know it's appreciated. If everyone commented every time, they'd probably do more which would make companies put more effort back into enduro.

8/17/2026 2:15am UCI ENDURO WORLD CUP - ROUND 6 - MORILLON, HAUTE-SAVOIE BRINGS THE CURTAIN DOWN ON A MEMORABLE SEASON: DAILLY AND CHARRE TRIUMPH AS THE 2026 OVERALL WINNERS ARE CROWNED A dramatic UCI Enduro World Cup season finale in Morillon, Haute-Savoie saw Adrien Dailly (Speed Project) and Morgane Charre (Pivot Factory Racing) claim Elite race victories, with Dailly overturning the Men standings to secure the overall title and Ella Conolly successfully defending her Women’s crown.
