TEAMROBOT Liked a comment about Feature MRP Lift Damper Long-Term Review

FWIW, when I talked with Steve at Vorsprung about testing a Smashpot (I have one on test right now), he was excited to hear that I'd be pairing it with a Lift. The best and worst part about a coil spring is how active and frictionless it is compared to an air spring, and Steve said the stock Charger 3.1 damper provides less support than he'd like to see for a Smashpot coil conversion. In contrast, air springs inherently have more friction in them, which is just another form of damping. I'm excited to have more detailed thoughts to share...

My F38 with Smashpot and LiftV2 is the best thing I've done to my bike, insanely good. My recommendation is to stick with Vorsprungs spring rates. I'm about 90kg, 170mm F38, regular bike, Smashpot V1, 50lbs spring, HBO shimmed to more open and messed with oil. Green tune LiftV2 and there is plenty of usable adjustment, LSC is 4-7 from open and rebound about right in the middle most of the time.

Hi all, I'm the 'Gosling' being referenced in the Bikeradar article. I had meetings in Les gets with five teams, YT being one and I'll start by saying that Gunnar Franke (Team Manager) is one of the best guys in the pits running a great team with awesome riders and staff. However we (Nukeproof) don't have the budget to go from 'no team' to one of the best, and highest budget teams in the pits when today we are not even selling any bikes. I also feel that we are not the type of brand that wants or needs one...

But that only mentions that the riders are for 2025 season, so Finns contract could be up. Pure Agency signed a multi year contract with Specialized, not the riders. Hopefully Finn stays and has a proper injury free offseason this time.

They discuss his future later in the pod. Pivot doesn’t seem likely from what they said. Norco or Intense both seemed possible. Also: the way the whole thing is discussed is kind of strange. There is never a mention of “I won’t be back with Mondraker” from what I heard. It just seems that they haven’t necessarily renewed his contract YET. Also possible they made an offer (possibly reduced salary) and he’s chosen to look elsewhere. I would love to see Dak on Mondraker one more year. In the past he’s talked about needing stability and consistency in his program...

My recommedation is to go for LikeWater or Putolines HPX R 2.5 fork oil. Both help massively with the wandering bite point issue and are better if you ride at colder temps. Gravity bleed and lever bleed after it is good, I’ve always used a shimano cup at the lever and a syringe at the caliper. Yeah you need to...

Yea, same rim and same tape, FR541 and two layers of stans tape. Its even same after a summer of use, when others have been much looser after use.

4 riders...I stopped counting at 13. LMS only did 5 all week, but I've got some secret sauce to keep air in the wombat's tires😉. Point being that it's the nature of the track.

Replace the bike seat with a bed pan. Gives new meaning to "dropper post."

Interesting! Not sure how they got this far without picking it up, and I was going to speculate on other causes but decided against it. I've never worked on one of these And yeah having more oil on the seal doesn't help, although a failed RSU seal quickly makes a huge mess too. Ideally seals are always "leaking" a tiny bit to maintain a film on the surface, so the RSU fork should be getting at least some oil back up on the wiper. Good lubricating oil sticks to the surfaces so its not 100% relying on gravity. A proper...

Just a buncha butthurt Yankees in here. Finding it hard to celebrate a young Canuck on top of the game. The irony is that if Jackson were American, those same butt hurt yanks would be being obnoxiously chanting ooo-rah USA! USA! with hand guns blasting in the air

Finally got through the Enduro Mag tyre test article and as the test results are given basically in full, but give a bad overview, I put everything ina Google Sheets spreadsheet. I also added tyre diameter (all 29...), width (mostly 2.4 and 2.5 inches), casing (trail, enduro, downhill) and compound softness (hard, medium soft). Please don't make a mess of it (I guess Vital people are chill), as the link gives full editing permissions. I'm lost regarding tread softness when it comes to Kenda, Pirelli, Specialized, VeeTire and WTB and lost regarding casings for the latter two as well, so...

On mtbr forum some say that the SRAM kit works fine and others that it doesn't. Hayes fittings has more thread and fittings ends are shaped differently, its more like cone shaped. I would personally just get the Hayes kit, it's not cheap I know but you know it works. Just get some rags ready, bleed process gets some dot...
