5/8/2025 1:35am I’ve been in Finale this past week on vacation, and it’s rained everyday. Not a ton, but enough to make some trails slippery, while others were tacky and perfect. The weather has changed every day (currently it’s sprinkling and cloudy), but it looks like it will warm up over the weekend and be drier. It doesn’t take too much sun to dry up a lot of trails, but there always seems to be some slick turns and puddles when you least expect it. The trails that are being raced on above Pietra have been closed all week. But I know...

5/7/2025 2:55pm yeah I've thrown in Sawdust and kids glitter, not sure if it made a difference, but when I changed tyres it looked like I'd been at a strip club.

5/2/2025 10:12am I'm happy to report Asa is being well compensated, at a level equal to his talent and future. Despite choices aplenty, Asa decided to stay with a team capable of fully taking care of him, but also one whose business dealings have been genuine and transparent. Asa's a bright kid, but to assume he was not properly represented and took advise, especially as one of the most branded athletes in the sport is a bit dramatic. No money nor opportunity left on the table. Opportunity: Taz, Wales...Rampage? Who gets that? Money: Private for obvious reasons, but he's making more at...

5/2/2025 10:08am There is no doubt that Asa is potentially leaving money on the table staying with Frameworks.. However, even though the kid has got a ton of talent, I don't think he'd be getting 7 figures as a rookie. The jump to elite is bigger than what the times show. Plus, if he signed with a major team, the pressure to perform becomes huge. Now, he's set for a couple of seasons and there is a good chance that his price can go up if those first two years in elite go as well as a lot of think it will..

5/1/2025 12:48pm Hi all. I've been a very long-time lurker of this site and have used VitalMTB extensively when researching bike geometries and parts lists. I made my account here today just so I could join some discussions since the other site's forum is trash. Anyways, I'm a tire nerd myself. I started making this spreadsheet last year when I was searching for new tire combos for my Spartan HP and my Felt Decree 1. I just started cataloguing weights, widths, and casings. Where I live, there's no need for some super-duper-hardcore-heavy-sticky tires. This list will never end, and occasionally I add...

4/11/2025 10:11am haha you are right and I am sorry, I didn't mean to derail the thread so much. All I really wanted to do was defend Enduro as I agree with a lot that has been said above, it's mainly a perception issue, so I am trying to shift perception and bring some positivity into the discipline. That was the reason for the Jack/Sram comment and trying to make it less about Sram pulling Enduro funding, and also the Chris Ball comment, which did not go over well, but that one I'll accept and I will keep trying with him. I'll...

4/2/2025 12:51pm Technically I don't get paid by SRAM either. They support the Canyon factory team that I am a part of, who pays me. That isn't to say they don't support me, but I don't have a contract with them. Factory teams are generally bolstered by sponsorship deals to increase the budget they have. YT went the route of 'uncaged' which meant they were fitting the whole bill and allowing their riders to run whatever they wanted, not taking any sponsorship money so the riders weren't forced into anything. Or so I understand it. So Jack would still get paid as...

3/30/2025 3:37pm I think it’s fair game to question Jesse. I’m no pro mountain biker but from my own professional experience I’d say it’s pretty uncommon to know exactly what kind of a deal the guy at the desk next to you is getting. That being said Jesse is a World Cup winner in the sport that we all love and frankly we’re lucky to have him here. Show the dude some respect

3/30/2025 3:35pm For the Schwalbe Radials, Trail is akin in thickness and weight to Maxxis EXO+ and Conti Enduro. Their Gravity is more like Maxxis DD or Conti DH thickness, but closer to Maxxis DH weight. Some actual weights to back this up for tires I've purchased: Albert Trail Pro Ultra Soft 29: 1,163g. Albert Gravity Pro Soft 27.5: 1,289g Magic Mary Trail Pro Ultra Soft 29: 1,170g. Magic Mary Gravity Pro Soft 27.5: 1,235g Conti Kryptotal Front 29 DH SS: 1,263g. Kryptotal Rear 27.5 DH SS: 1,198g Maxxis Assegai 29 DD MG: 1,284g. Maxxis Assegai 29 DH MG: 1,370g. DHR 27.5...

3/28/2025 4:43am Do a 20-30 minute deep dive into track cycling. It will surprise you. There is infrastructure for it in so many countries, even some you wouldn't expect. Korea is a good example. It isn't even on the radar for track, but I was shocked to discover how much track cycling infrastructure there is. There are velodromes of various sizes all over the country, even a few major stadium-sized ones. Serious competitions start at the middle and high school levels. Cities have track teams. There's even a Keiren series where guys are making surprisingly good livings. The Champions League was pointed...

3/25/2025 6:40am If I can add my 2 cents here. I don't think Sram paid Jack, or the team, anything. That whole YT deal is that they run whatever they want because they don't take money from any sponsors. Now I think that was changing because the industry is struggling and they probably saw how much money they were losing out on. My best guess is YT asked Sram to pay to support the team and they said no, so YT doubled down on the TRP/Fox association they had already been building. Vali would be the only one I could see saying...
