It was a 4-day holiday weekend but became a 5-day last month. Roads, trains, buses will be packed on 5/1-2 from morning till early afternoon. Get your transport while you can. Some small teams that tried to book vans in the last few weeks weren't successful

Only a couple of weeks until UCI Downhill World Cup kicks off. I'm stoked for it, especially considering the ultra-talented riders who are graduating to Elite from Juniors. Let's go.

The S-Works is a full Sram build. The drivetrain was developed with Sram so it makes sense, plus the S-brands have had a long history of being tight. The Team Replica is, well, a team replica: Ohlins, Brembo, DT Swiss, etc... There's a dark grey paint job that has the same marble(?) like texture that looks pretty slick with a...

Only two trails will be open because the XC track runs cuts across most of the lower half of the park. Rentals, they have really old GT Sanctions that are being retired for Zerodes but there's been no word on when the Zerodes arrive. Alpensia Resort around the corner "has" a bike park but they've been real quiet about things...

I wish I could tell you more, but they've been pretty tight on sharing much of the track. I've only been to the top as a tourist, as the bike park runs on the opposite side of the resort. Gonna have to wait for track walk videos and photos to really figure things out as spectators. I choose to have...

Yeah, it can be a headache. Korea is crazy convenient once you're in the digital ecosystem. Often a nightmare if you're not. In other news, course inspection with medical teams and WBD today!

Honestly, it's hit and miss. Basic Naver registration can get done fairly easily, but to really be able to do anything you normally need a Korean Resident ID and phone with a local carrier. It's all linked together. I'm going to make a broad assumption that purchasing tickets at the event is probably the easiest thing to do. Looking up...

Naver doesn't like non-Korean IP addresses. It's an amazingly convenient website and ecosystem for residents, but for non-residents... Unfortuantely, I haven't seen any other place to purchase tickets. "Naver only" is an "interesting" move for pre-sale.

Ticket information is up for the race. You're going to ride a shuttle bus to the base of the DH track or take the gondola up and walk down. No word on whether the Rainbow chairlift will be limited to riders/staff. You might have trouble accessing the Naver site or paying, but at least you can see the pricing and...
Uber in Korea isn't the same as in other countries. It's essentially just taxi's branded Uber. Kakao Taxi is more widespread, and in a small town like Daegalyong, more likely to be found. Download the KakaoT app. You plug in your pick-up point and destination, and choose the level of car you want. It also helps keep the driver honest...

6-8 hours? 🤣 🤣 It does happen, but only if you're driving/riding a bus during a holiday or in bad weather. I forgot about a holiday once and it took me almost five hours in the morning instead of the three I expected The KTX from Seoul to Pyeongchang Station via KTX is roughly 90 minutes. A taxi to the...

Thanks! I follow Frank and hadn't seen anything. Locals are definitely worried about the XC course as there hasn't been much news or social media of the build leading up to it. There is some PTSD from F1 doing a one-and-done race 😆

Can I ask who's posting the XC course build? You can check live webcams to see some of the snow situation. http://ski.atik.kr/#mona/2 Base Overview is where the XC course will be. The treeline in the center of the shot is where some of those photos were taken. Mega Green Slope is where the DH finish area will be or the...

Location matters. I have an xc hardtail in the midwest at my MIL's house... that bike has a 170mm dropper and it is more then enough. Out west where I live, I do not ride anything less then 210mm drop because it makes a difference. The riding is completely different however... one is gaining and losing elevation at 20-50-100' at a time, and the other is climbing for 1-2 hours straight and descending for 10-15 minutes straight down the steepest terrain possible. Both setups work great for their intended purpose for my 6'3" frame.

I mean before Avinox we had Bosch fan boys but that was more of a german thing and way smaller in scale . Since avinox came up you will have basically Spammers that spam some unrelated avinox shit under every article that isn't even related. It's also telling that the rattle got lied about by most reviewers/influencers. They said the motor is totally silent. But that was also the case with bosch when the Cx4 came out.

I had a phone call with the CEO and there were no other options on the table than that to leave. Worst part was that then following that they folded the team but I guess if I had of kept racing they wouldn't have. Anyways I think it happens more often than you think I know personally of some other riders who went through the same thing unfortunately.
