While I haven't ridden it myself yet, all the people who I know who have, which is about 7-8 people on a variety of bikes, have no complaints about the clutch. No dropped chains, no excess noise, no feedback from chain slap. I hope to get some time on it soon.

Angel gets a paycheck, gets to keep racing, and I would imagine helps with developing the next Aventon ebike. What's the problem?

I'd guess personal preference, Shimano not pressuring riders to run specific products, and having a variety of reliable options to choose from rather than going from a brake that barely works to an absolute monster. In theory, you'd assume that Shimano would want everyone on Saint brakes for dh, but you only see a handful of riders running them anymore...

I am not seeing how the last 4 pages of this thread have anything to do with rumors or innovation.

Mayb the thread should be retitled, something like “tech rumors and innovation… and bitching about it.”

Apologies in advanced if I'm just late to the party, but has someone already stated what that cable coming out of, what I would normally assume is a Reverb controller, is for? Caught my eye with each viewing. Seems a wee bit odd, or all those undiagnosed concussions as a kid are catching up to me.

Ahh the Fanzone. Too bad the "security" there didn't actually know what passes were what. I had a VIP pass and was turned away at the DH fan zone, but welcomed with open arms at the XC 🤣. Waited like 20 minutes for a single over-priced beer at the cafe building as a result.

Fanzone ticket paid for itself if you were a beer drinker, there were nice toilets at the back of the two storey building near the finish line.

It was a 4-day holiday weekend but became a 5-day last month. Roads, trains, buses will be packed on 5/1-2 from morning till early afternoon. Get your transport while you can. Some small teams that tried to book vans in the last few weeks weren't successful

Only a couple of weeks until UCI Downhill World Cup kicks off. I'm stoked for it, especially considering the ultra-talented riders who are graduating to Elite from Juniors. Let's go.

The S-Works is a full Sram build. The drivetrain was developed with Sram so it makes sense, plus the S-brands have had a long history of being tight. The Team Replica is, well, a team replica: Ohlins, Brembo, DT Swiss, etc... There's a dark grey paint job that has the same marble(?) like texture that looks pretty slick with a...

Only two trails will be open because the XC track runs cuts across most of the lower half of the park. Rentals, they have really old GT Sanctions that are being retired for Zerodes but there's been no word on when the Zerodes arrive. Alpensia Resort around the corner "has" a bike park but they've been real quiet about things...

I wish I could tell you more, but they've been pretty tight on sharing much of the track. I've only been to the top as a tourist, as the bike park runs on the opposite side of the resort. Gonna have to wait for track walk videos and photos to really figure things out as spectators. I choose to have...

Yeah, it can be a headache. Korea is crazy convenient once you're in the digital ecosystem. Often a nightmare if you're not. In other news, course inspection with medical teams and WBD today!

Honestly, it's hit and miss. Basic Naver registration can get done fairly easily, but to really be able to do anything you normally need a Korean Resident ID and phone with a local carrier. It's all linked together. I'm going to make a broad assumption that purchasing tickets at the event is probably the easiest thing to do. Looking up...

Naver doesn't like non-Korean IP addresses. It's an amazingly convenient website and ecosystem for residents, but for non-residents... Unfortuantely, I haven't seen any other place to purchase tickets. "Naver only" is an "interesting" move for pre-sale.
