DServy Added a reply to Vital’s Bikes: Unaffiliated Podcast - Community Conversation
5 hours ago I think you could extend this to any biker who is still looking for personal improvement. Any one who is dedicating actual effort into getting better, whatever that may look like, is core. I don't think you have core without progression. If you've lifted weights, done an interval, learned to wrench, gone to a yoga class, drank a nasty ass...

17 hours ago Think of HSC Tune Adjuster as adjusting the "shape" of the compression on a dyno chart versus a HSC adjuster that sets "where" that chart begins (the lower threshold of when that circuit is active) For instance, you can have a HSC tune that provides a ton of HSC at higher shaft speeds but opens up early, or a HSC...
DServy Added a reply to Oak Levers vs Freedom Coast Levers
8/7/2026 7:56am I'm actually annoyed with two things in my life: How much I like Mavens How much I like Freedom coast levers vs stock. These two annoyances means I have 3 sets of mavens with their levers.

8/3/2026 7:50pm If you are going to ride the bike park and the option for a DH bike exists whether it is renting it or bringing your own, go with the DH bike. Even if you've never ridden a DH bike and think "oh, I don't know if I need a DH bike, maybe I'm not fast enough for a DH bike, maybe I won't be able to handle a DH bike, maybe it's too much bike for me." Shut up. You don't need that kind of negative talk in your life. Get the DH bike.

7/30/2026 10:53am For what it's worth your experience with the new TR11 and the new RS suspension tracks pretty well with what I've seen. I got my wife a TR11 in the S size and she's a good rider, but wanted a couch with some wheels attached over a lap time hunting machine. I wasn't sure she would ever find bottom on...

7/30/2026 8:14am My 2 Cents after spending years riding bike parks on an enduro bike but moved to using a DH bike this season is: Use a DH bike. It's so much better. The only comparison I can make is if you're a skier the difference between riding your ski touring gear in bounds vs. an actual resort setup. The whole experience...

7/29/2026 10:20pm Another +1 on the OneUps. Having used both Shimano and Crankbrothers in the past I do feel like the OneUp with the new Shimano SP-m001 or whatever cleat is the way to go. You get the positive feedback of the SDP to know exactly where you are and the shoe feel of a decent flat pedal.

7/29/2026 9:21am I guess I'll share my take from my time up in the area. Del Boca Vista is a gem, just the best place to try pulling for stupid things. Legit fun on any bike as well. New A-Line start is way better Ebikes have not done the Blackcomb trails any favors The riding outside the park so good, worth a...

7/14/2026 9:43pm Are people in the gravity side of the sport really clamoring for high engagement hubs to pair with their o-chains?

7/14/2026 8:57pm Honestly, the lack of "fudgeability" by using the limits + b tension screws to deal with any cable/housing related issues puts a hell of a lot of pressure on the tension adjuster on the sram 90 shifter and its just... not up to the task. I think I'd be singing a different tune if it felt as nice to deal...

7/14/2026 7:29pm Yes, but the Transmission 90 stuff is... not amazing. I like T-type drivetrains a lot, but their cable offerings are worse than the old 12 speed IMO.

7/4/2026 9:17am So a few things: First off, I feel like any intermediate or above mountain biker could benefit from data as I do believe there's just basic performance numbers that are decent enough targets that are worth aiming for. Even just getting the front and the rear to behave in a "mostly" balanced way would benefit so many riders. Putting data...

6/18/2026 5:38am I doubled down and bought two sets, one for the endurbro rig and one for the dh bike. Will I like them? who knows. Will I be able to pawn them off if I hate them? Probably.

6/18/2026 5:37am Not gonna lie, this is what I want out of enduro. Big days on cool trails that feel a bit more like you're messing around in the woods than riding a bike park/dh track. More of this!

6/13/2026 8:15am Hottake, The new Q1 and Q2 formats are great and I much prefer it over rider protected status as its probably the most fair way to narrow the field down. Does it mean some really popular riders lose out? Yep. Does it also mean that seasonal consistency is more rewarded in WC overall standing points? Also yes. Seems odd to...

6/13/2026 7:16am That's also because Codes were god awful and the sram riders were so happy to get on an actual brake. I recently felt some older codes on some bikes I was dealing with and they were shockingly worse than I remembered. Say what you will about Shimano brakes, but they've been consistently good for a while.
