Alright, here is my two cents on Schwalbe's radial casing and the Albert. Sorry for word-barfing so hard in a forum. So we tested the Albert at the end of summer before it launched as part of a gravity tire shootout that's dropping next week. I know, a bit of a delay. Maybe I'm just being overly optimistic or giving too much benefit of the doubt, but either way I cant see why the only option here is that WBD are gonna abuse their system. Seems to me that they have created a fuzzy window to make sure small teams with high profile riders like Gwin Racing can access World Cups, these teams likely having better budget and resources etc.. than a team made up of 8-10 low ranked riders. Interesting you frame it as total nepotism. When you could easily read the rule around how teams 15-20 might be selected as allowing the best races and teams that might provide the best support and care for riders access to the series. 15 teams selected on merit in a fairly objective way and 5 teams selected on a variety of criteria, that you'd hope is used to make sure teams that can provide healthy salaries for riders and staff and a safe environment for racers are selected. I know negativity is cool and all in 2024/5, but this rule change or whatever you call it, is because previously, under UCI organisation teams were not allowed to sell merch from their pits. I think it was so the local organisers could make more money selling expo space to vendors etc... So it's basically a positive change... but ya.

The fact SRAM state you have to complete these extra steps just to achieve a brake that works for their top of the line product (which no other manufacturer does) just screams poor design and manufacturing.

I had a go at Conti kryptotal F in super soft DH My other go to are Pirelli scorpion enduro race M and assegai MaxxGrip, exo+ or DD I wasn’t as thrilled on the kryptotal as the hype had me thinking I would be. Chemical grip is some of the best but the square profile was just a bit too square for me. I can see it being an unreal DH tire.
