A lot of talk about the Contis recently. I've ran the Kryptotal F-R Enduro Soft version for a few months since I was curious about them. Pretty easy to mount and inflate. The mechanical grip is there but the tire leaves very much to wish for in the wet. The soft compound is harder than both Maxxis Maxxterra and Schwalbe Soft in my opinion. The tires works well in the dry, but as soon as it gets wet the front really wanders around a lot. I hope the SuperSoft compund is better. The soft compound is definitly better for durability...

8/2/2024 11:11am Shark rotors are worth the money. Been using mine for about 4 weeks, done two big races and they feel amazing and straight as hell, which ofc helps with my magura brakes too..

20 teams Next year, fair few are going to go along with privateers. The ones who are good and have good points will be getting team rides. I wish Specialized would confirm if they have special casings and rubber just for the Cannibal. I haven't ridden them, but everyone mentions they are stickier and tougher casing than a Grid Gravity Butcher/Eliminator T9. Would make sense- Cannibal for DH and EDR racing, other Grid Gravity tires (Butcher/Eliminator) for normal people enduro riding.

6/23/2024 3:40am Yes, naturally with eliminator being the least consistent of them, but as a rear tyre it doesnt matter that much, but I wouldn't ride it in the most muddy conditions..

I raced in the Open category this weekend and managed to reach every stage on time, with a few minutes to spare. The racers both in front of me and behind me also made it to the transfers on time. Although our transfer times were slightly longer than the elite's (by about 5 to 10 minutes), and we raced earlier in the day when the heat was more bearable, this shouldn't create a significant difference between us amateurs and the elites. From my POV, I like the move to tighter transfers. I've always felt we needed to put a little more emphasis on getting through the day a bit more swiftly and rewarding this kind of stamina a bit more. By not having any real pressure around the transfers, you create a culture of snail pacing the entire day to conserve energy, which I always hated. Made a long day even longer and didn't reward those who had the endurance all that much. Looking at results, it doesn't appear many men dropped out. The women's field looked to be a bit...

My son (16) and his friends still predominantly race enduro, and they love racing enduro. They enjoy being out on their bikes all day on long rides and getting to ride as a group and hang out together. That being said, they feel that there's a lack of "hype" around enduro now and that DH is getting a lot more attention and resources put into it... so a lot of them are starting to explore DH more.
