1/19/2026 12:24am Maxxis Digestor Maxxis Denominator Maxxis Minotaur Maxxis Mennonite Maxxis Legal Retainer Maxxis Domesticator And my personal vote: the Maxxis HRDHRMX3 Classic I also hope the sidewall tech on the new batch of Maxxis tires in 2026 brings with them an exciting new three letter acronym too, like SDC (Super Defense Casing), so I can run the Maxxis HRDHRMX3 Classic SDC 29x2.5 3C MaxxGrip as a front tire and save the Maxxis DHR2 DH 29x2.4 3C MaxxTerra as a rear tire. But that's just me.

1/10/2026 1:02am But it’s not really that fair to compare XT vs maven (or other big ones) anyway, XT is basically a trail brake and maven is full on gravity. Lets see what they are doing with that new Saint model when it comes, my guess is that pistons are bigger but not maven size.

1/7/2026 4:42am Finally someone speaking some sense. And, no surprise it's someone with actual on the ground EWS experience!

1/7/2026 4:42am As someone who was there from the very beginning (okay EWS #2), I think the story arc of EWS/EDR is a bit more complex that people think, and that Chis Ball is not the boogie man some make him out to be. EWS was not just Chis Ball, it was a run by a board, with Chis as the most public facing member of the organization. Keep in mind that in 2013 enduro racing was seen as an exciting new sport (yes I know, it wasn't new in France and Italy) and the timing was perfect with new wheel sizes...

1/4/2026 1:49pm If you advance the piston past the timing port with the lever in the resting position, you have now created a fully closed system between the lever piston and the caliper pistons, where any expansion in fluid volume (as it heats up) will cause the caliper pistons to advance and thus, brake. It's the whole reason the timing port and the expansion reservoir exist to begin with. The only "real" way to adjust the amount of dead stroke in a brake system is to move the timing port or change the hydraulic/mechanical design by altering the ratio between level and...

1/4/2026 7:05am Highly doubt it, with his injury history in recent years and the commitment that DH requires of you to go fast, maybe some aussie DH races.

1/3/2026 4:17pm I mean that original post starts the conversation and its like ten posts long on the same page, think everyone should have the time and interest for it before modifying their brakes. Long story short, Hayes has set it correctly already so it doesn’t mess up the ports and close up the system.

1/1/2026 12:42am At least another week for some of the "unknowns" to make official announcements. Moir is signing with the City of Bentonville and will have an ankle monitor on that prevents him from leaving the area. He'll be slanging pastries and coffee out of a smoko stand in the woods when not riding.

12/30/2025 1:08am I am also trying to understand this thought process. I can walk or drive to an auto parts store and pick up DOT fluid likely easier than trying to find the right mineral oil without having to order it online. I can bleed both my Hayes in 20 minutes with a spray bottle of alcohol on standby for immediate cleanup. It's too easy -- nothing more complex than using mineral oil.

12/29/2025 7:03am You can get the correct DOT fluid in any automotive shop. For any DOT compatible brake. Good luck with that with mineral oil brakes. You have different oils WITHIN the same manufacturer (Shimano), let alone between manufacturers. I know I'm beating a dead horse at this point and derailling the thread at the same time, but sorry, I see ZERO benefits from using mineral oil vs. DOT fluid in brakes... If anything, also reading people's experiences about it, it's more complicated than anything, cleaning it up is a pain compared to DOT and the aforementioned issue of finding the correct...
