Fred_Pop Added a reply to 2026 MTB Tech Rumors and Innovation - Longer and Slacker
7/19/2026 1:50pm I used to run that setup 22/32T but then realised I didn't need the 32T over here in the Alps. I also came across a narrow wide 22T direct mount sram chainring on Aliexpress so now just run that. When I go ride somewhere flatter I put on a bigger chainring.

7/19/2026 4:14am I am dead serious. To do all day riding without pushing on all the steep climbs you need some serious low gears. I have them on my Nicolai G1. Used to use a 2x crank on my old Pole Evolink without problems too.

7/18/2026 1:49pm I like to climb everything rather than push up so I am one of the few that cleans the ebike climbs hehe. Yeah very steep stuff around here.

7/18/2026 7:10am I run a 22 front ring with a cut down 11 speed 15-51. Perfect for the terrain here in the French Alps.

Fred_Pop Added a reply to PNW Components Gets High - New Range 75mm rise alloy handlebars
7/2/2026 1:44pm So I have some feedback on the 120mm rise handlebar (10º backsweep, 5º upsweep). I ran it with the same setback of 35mm (straight line though the middle of the ends of the handlebar to middle of stem) which I was running on my 90mm rise handlebar. I run a -10mm stem. I increased my rear spring rate up to...

6/28/2026 2:17pm Very happy with the 90mm. It shortens the cockpit and adds a lot of agility to the bike. No compromises climbing either. Just tried the 120mm risers in the parking lot and it feels sick. I can almost scrape the bars on the ground cornering because I can lean the bike over so much! Will test them on some trails...

6/26/2026 1:58pm I've got 474mm chainstays so my 90mm riser doesn't feel too high. Maybe 120mm will be too much...

6/26/2026 1:56pm I'm currently running this one: https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B0DPFXGYFS?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&t… It's pretty thick and heavy so I'm not worried it'll snap. Been using it for over a month both trail riding and at the bikepark. 90mm rise 9x5º Tomorrow I'll receive this one: https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B0FR14VWPH?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&t… 120mm rise 10x5º

6/25/2026 11:43am I'd like to see even higher bars available. I'm currently running 90mm but just bought some 120mm to test.

6/15/2026 2:28pm I've tried the gen1 radial Shredda rear as a front tyre at the bikepark. You need to pump them up a tad more and even then it's not ideal for very rocky trails. It does work on the natural and rolling flow trails (though it's not the fastest rolling obviously due to 1. the ultrasoft compound and 2. the super...

6/12/2026 1:38pm Shredda front and rear are the grippiest tyres on the market for soft dirt. I run them in winter on roots, snow and soft top soil (aka "loam") and absolutely love them. The Shredda rear also makes for a great front tyre when it driers up, it's like a Magic Mary on steroids. Not sure why they aren't used in...

6/5/2026 1:25pm Seems like Lenz has decided to make a 32er in the same spirit of the first 29er. When will they learn!!!

6/5/2026 1:19pm I see that Lenz made a bike in the same style of the first 29er bikes...Steeper head angle and shorter reach🙄

5/29/2026 11:32am I fail to see the point of the Dirty Dan when Schwalbe already has the Shredda Front and Shredda Rear. Those are so much better than the Dirty Dan!

5/29/2026 11:28am Do you mean Reece Wilson's custom Dorado with NSB crowns? Those won't be production.

5/26/2026 11:47pm I want long chainstays on all bikes except BMX and Dirt jump bikes or trials bikes. For mtb it's better at climbing and keeps the bike more balanced.

5/24/2026 10:50pm Sounds like they couldn't be bothered and gave a BS answer to justify it after admitting that testing proven it made a difference.
