Short stems were tried in the past when bikes where tiny and that's why they didn't stick. Nowadays you can size up and run a short stem without any problem. You get stability from a longer bike and added agility from your cockpit making that long bike handle well. Pros as well as brands don't tend to test limits, they...

If you want more grip get two radials. The difference between a radial and a normal tyre is huge in terms of grip. Best to lose the back before the front. I ran an Albert (radial) rear with a front Eddy Current (tubeless and with insert) for one ride in lose over hardpack with some rocks and hated it. Had...

Yes conform, be a sheep don't think for yourself. Certainly don't go out and test to see what works for you...

Best to run a radial front and normal rear than the reverse. I ran an Eddy Current front with an Albert (radial) rear and it's not great...too much grip in the rear so I couldn't slide the back end. Front radial with regular rear works so long as you don't need max grip. If you do then the back end...

Radials come in trail and gravity (aka DH casing). The DH casing is the same as the Schwalbe Super DH casing (not to be confused with the Super Gravity casing which is 2 ply sidewall and 1 ply top) but obviously feels way more supple. I've managed to cut both a Shredda rear and a Albert Gravity casing as back...

What type of terrain do you ride in most of the time. Radials shine on natural, tech terrain without too many sharp rocks. They give loads of grip and really mute the terrain. I love them but for bikepark or really rocky terrain and normal tyre will give more support. Shredda rear as a front is a great all rounder...

A point I rarely see addressed in regards to modular bikes is that you also have the "inbetween" option now. Take the Rallon for example. Lots of us want big bikes but have no intention on racing them, so a Rallon with a dual crown, a 10-44 cassette on an xplr derailleur, paired with some less burly rims, a water bottle cage, and a full sized dropper. Not a DH race sled, not an enduro epic, but something dedicated to having fun at the park. The modularity is cool, the ability to build a one off dedicated purpose built bike...

Hey, I live in Chatel year round and have been here since 2012. If all you want to ride is bikepark then stick to your plan but definitely add Morgins to the list. You can access Morgins from Mossette lift and then get back by riding into Chatel village and taking a bus back to the Chatel bikepark. If you're...

Funny how my coil boxxer is as quiet as it can be with simple 2 layers of PTFE heatshrink...Jordi always finds some story to cover the real reasons, guys like Steve from vorsprung find easy solutions to such a small niggles instead (in this case, stanchion liners for 38mm forks), job jobbed.

1. More brands make radial tyres (got a sneak peak at a Specialized Cannibal radial) 2. 32in xc/trail bikes come out (Scott is already ready to go) 3. 32in xc bike wins a worldcup 4. Asa vs Jackson vs Loic for the title in Elite, Vali wins easily this year on Commencal 5. More 1000w ebikes with DJI or equivalent...

It's very useful if you ride steep both up and down. More efficient uphill position so you don't have to fight to not slip back on the saddle. On the way down it provides extra clearance so it's like having a longer dropper.
Two days on Sragura/Mavura setup on the front. Pros: More modulation than Shigura or Saint setup, no wondering bite point, wide range of contact point adjustment Cons: Harder to bleed and setup, lever pull is heavier than shimano, lever allows for little space to place dropper lever mount (could be fixed with matchmaker)
