I’d like to see someone design a full blown skidplate. It could clamp to the BB cups and be positioned by the ISCG tabs. Trials bikes had similar things decades ago. You could mount a ton of weight down there and you'd get the advantage of a full width skidplate.

I like the idea, but would that much weight only being on one side cause issues? I think 5Dev's solution is the most elegant, personally

Completely random and off topic, but I was wondering if youre able to share how the StumpJumper Evo rear triangles did on sales and reviews? Innovation as a whole is slowing down. But the idea of making a bike into a different beast via your setup is wicked cool. Are there other bikes in the pipeline that interest you to do that again?

They seem to have pulled that DHX review. Probably scheduled it wrong, though the social media post with the now dead link are still up.

amflows carbon full suspension e-suv is 3000. i don’t think their gearbox variant will be a lot more expensive than that. my customer today who test rode the new vado evo will buy the amflow. as will a lot more people at that pricepoint. tell us why you expect an informed customer would buy anything less than that in the future. i don’t see many reasons for mainstream users to NOT want those instead of a dirty chain driven system that needs constant maintenance. if those ride at least as good as a devinci powered ebike they will sell every...

I realize that every situation and rider is different. You learn how a tire reacts and you ride accordingly. I’ve used a DHF for over 20 years as a front tire. Maybe longer. Many other designs have come and gone, but the DHF has persevered. I’ve tried other offerings, specifically the Assegai… This might sound weird, but I thought it was possibly too good. It made steering the bike boring. I couldn’t get a front wheel slide to happen. I actually enjoy that, and use it as a cornering method. You can actually feel what the tire is doing on...

Honestly I've never found a situation where I preferred the DHF over an Assegai. DHX looks cool too. 1550 grams though... that's a thick b

when the main argument against it happening is “no way, that’d be illegal,” it’s ridiculous to think that it’s not… the real gnarly thing isn’t that there are ads lining up with what you just talked about though, it’s that they got you to talk about the thing in the first place. They do know us so well they can make us think a certain way.

I love that you think gearboxes will become ubiquitous on ebikes and will entirely replace mechanical derailleurs and electronic battery-powered derailleurs and electronic hard-wired derailleurs and autoshift derailleurs and internally geared hubs, instead of becoming one more option among a confusing sea of options and pricepoints, like everything else in the bike industry. If only it were that simple.

That is the manufacturer playing a little fast and loose since currently in most states the class structure are more suggested than regulated.. Nowhere in any class 3 description is a throttle mentioned.

Honest question for knowledgeable people in the forum: are these standards any different than what Trek was already offering on their ebikes? Have they downgraded the speed, power, or throttle access of their ebikes, or are they just committing to not upgrade the speed, power, or throttle access?

Just a reminder: no federal statute passed by Congress formally recognizes the Class 1, 2, and 3 e-bike system. Federal law instead defines a “low-speed electric bicycle” as a two- or three-wheeled vehicle that: Has fully operable pedals. As an aside, if @TEAMROBOT eCVT concept has the rider powering a "generator" rather than mechanically driving the wheel, it may not satisfy this requirement. Has an electric motor of less than 750 watts. Cannot exceed 20 mph on level pavement when powered solely by the motor, with a 170-pound rider. That last provision is how Class 3 bikes can assist up...
