Yeah, I do want the pro for the fine adjustment, definitely notice the big gap between flat and forward. Ideally it would have four positions I think, but it would be way harder to design. Flat, one back, two forward. Even with the three positions i sometimes overshoot when going for the middle one.

These are awesome, you've totally undersold the advantage they have for steep climbs. Being able to relax most of the upper body and sit tall with a straight back while everyone else is hanging off their bars hunched over, then go straight back to a comfy position on the flat is awesome. And angled right back makes it way more comfy on the legs when descending for some reason.

10/17/2026 9:47pm Or the spindle is clocked differently on the different cranks so the power stroke is pushing on the axle at a completely different angle, where the wear isn't.

10/17/2026 12:18pm Rolling the bar forward also does the same thing as increasing your stem length. Rolling it back decreases it. The more rise your bars have, the more it changes for the same change in roll angle compared to low rise. Pick your bar roll for comfort, then change your stem length to suit the handling.

10/12/2026 11:55pm No, but considering how slick some of the tires are that are in fairly frequent rotation, my gut feel is that it would be more than useful. Been a while since I've worked with fluid sims though.

10/11/2026 2:02pm The wider the tire, the more you stand to gain by making the rim aero. No reason to give up on aero cos the tire is wide.

9/29/2026 3:45pm Progressive suspension makes a bike better if you're putting lots of energy into the suspension, and worse if you're not. It's definitely a personal preference thing rather than a good or bad thing.

I currently use dominions for their really light lever feel and I don't think I can compromise on that at all now that I've become used to it, but I'm keen to move away from hayes. 9/18/2026 7:29pm I'd try it in high with a tiny bit more air in it and maybe slightly slower compression. You're raising your LR which makes your suspension at the wheel have a lower spring rate and less damping. It's not a big enough difference to be worth changing it trail-to-trail imo, especially if you need to stuff around with your shock...
