5/19/2026 12:35am I only ride mullet but would take a 29" rear wheel any day for technical climbing.

5/18/2026 12:28am I dunno, I work for a company that sells multiple brands that compete with each other on paper but have a different customer base in reality. In a similar industry. Brand differentiation works just fine if you offer a similar product that's marketed differently. Not that I think SC or GT share much at all, or ever made similar products.

5/17/2026 11:52pm I'd much rather fix a carbon bike with a damaged downtube than an aluminium bike with a crack. Between the two, my money would be on the carbon bike having the longer lifespan. Aluminium fatigue is a bitch.

5/17/2026 11:47pm 99.5% of people looking for a GT or SC would have absolutely no fucking clue what Pon is lol. GT disappeared because all they had was their heritage, and that's not enough to carry a brand indefinitely as they pumped out mostly unappealing bikes year after year. I personally don't know anyone that considered buying one in recent memory. I...

5/13/2026 6:58pm People also just get bored of one thing. We've been riding enduro bikes for years now. I ride exactly the same trails as I used to on the fleet of enduro bikes I've had over the years, but now I do it on an optic built like an enduro bike (but with 140/125 travel). Same trails, different dynamics. lots of...

5/13/2026 4:18pm That's not too unusual I don't think, my friend has a Nomad with a Cruz-approved local repair.

5/13/2026 12:41am I feel bad already about cluttering tech rumors with a politics post. Lets leave it here and I'll let someone make/revive a politics thread if they want to bitch more. In terms of thermoplastic vs epoxy carbon and the repair of frames, are carbon repairers able to work with thermoplastic? There are two carbon repairers in my city that do...

5/12/2026 11:15pm I'm unable to update my personal information because in order to save the changes on that page, I need a valid phone number. Why do I need a valid phone number? Can I please not need one?

5/12/2026 6:35pm No, you would also need to limit travel. Otherwise the CSU runs into the tire at bottom-out. The CSU has less clearance at bottom out than the arch does. It was easy to do on the 40 because you can move the crown up the stanchions.

5/7/2026 2:41am it's weird that they'd discontinue the Mega but keep the Nomad though. Surely they sell more Megas.

5/7/2026 1:24am When I reviewed the Dominions for a mag back when they first came out, I discussed the design goals with Hayes themselves. They said that every aspect of the brake was designed to minimise resistance in the system while maximising stiffness. This includes seals, springs, and a larger ID for the hose than normal. This is the main reason that...

5/5/2026 6:49pm The comparable bike that is approaching 30mm of rearward travel at sag is the Craftworks ENR with 27mm or so. That thing is on the extreme end of high pivot. The RMU is not. 13mm is a more likely number...

5/5/2026 6:28pm The light pull thing isn't a non-issue, it's just not an issue for everyone. Aside from avoiding a lot of arm pump with light pull levers, i also much prefer the feel and control, so i'd prefer to know what brakes are heavy to pull and what ones are light. Is that okay with you?

4/11/2026 6:35pm My carbon Optic with XT, air springs and no inserts is 8lb heavier than the first Tempo build I clicked on in the bike checks section. Lol.

4/11/2026 5:01pm Yeah, like my Tues seat. I came from trials and bmx so I was used to having the seat near my ankles haha
AgrAde Added a reply to What makes this noise?
4/11/2026 4:30pm I used to run my Tues with a bit of tire/seat interference. It made noise but it wasn't like jamming the brakes on at all. I expect it depends heavily on the seat and how much interference there is but they're not gonna set their bike up so it fucks up their run if they use too much travel...
