Back in the late nineties when I was a teen, SC were seen (in UK) as a boutique brand and the high prices were justified. Nowadays that ain't the case as SC bikes are so common on the trails. The fact you can buy a boutique Antidote for less money than a top end SC is ridiculous.

I commented about this on their IG post of the new HT, something like “its 2022 stop mismatching the suspension, and they said “a shock is a shock and a fork is a fork, no reason not to”. Santa Cruz can absolutely suck canal water.

Do we know why SC refuses to use almost any other shock other than RS? I've never really been a fan of not matching f/r sus components and have read reviews of bikes missing the mark when they mix. I'm not saying its good or bad but the last several years I've never gotten an explanation.

1) what is the point of a flip chip for .3*?
2) I don’t believe their SA
3) quit mixing the suspension
4) TOO EXPENSIVE MAKE AN ALLOY VERSION.

This has to be the blandest, most boring new bike in recent years.

Status is alloy. Sooo that’s not a good point. It’s a bummer that SC doesn’t offer mid level alloy builds like the SJ EVO. Would that be worth $5600?

Okay rad bike but the pricing is getting ridiculous. $5600 with NX components, throwaway rims and G2 brakes?! I own a SC and love it but wow this is a little out of control. Awesome specialized has the status. That build would be 5k with SC at the moment

No thanks. It’s $20. And their “bead dropper” is like $30. For a 1/4 of the price you can use a strap, cut a plastic tire lever to the flat part and duck tape a handle on it. I use an old oneup frame strap if the tire is unwilling to mount by hand.

The spherical bearing is only up front/top. They use the same bushings for the rear/lower as stock spesh.

I’ve got the Stump evo with CC link float x and push.

With the float X I had to go from stock .2 spacer to a .8 and add 15 psi to get it behave correctly, say 30%, pop, no bottom clang, support, but small bump. Now the float x is dialed.

I’ve had the 11/6 on 7 bikes in 3 years including the stumpy evo and I’ve ALWAYS had to get a stiffer spring after they send it back to me. I hate the feeling of a preloaded softer spring. You can make coil feel pretty close to air and vice versa. It takes time to setup and that means testing with patience. Sometimes it takes me 20 minutes, sometimes it takes me 4 hours. The 11/6 on this bike, with the CC link is NICE. The link makes up for the last bit of bottom out and the mid support it pretty noticeable. Considering push tunes the shock around the STOCK LINK setup, this combination works great. If you’re in between recommended spring rates, go stiffer. I recently rode about 14.5 miles on mellow trails with very low grade and not a lot of rough. More XC style but with some things pop off at speed and some corners to push into, can’t say enough good things about the 11/6, on this bike, with the CC link.

Stink bug effect is most commonly experienced when both wheels are on the ground but the rear is riding higher than the front. This was common in some dirt bikes for a period of time, Hondas had bad stink bug 09-13ish. Its especially noticeable when braking and riding at speed through rough sections. Less sag and a click of compression or rebound is a good remedy. This of course is assuming the rider has good technique and proper body position.

Someone is about to get a deal on a hard charging Dak Norton. He is poised for a win really really soon.
