i don’t wanna sound like a butthole... but... I don’t find drops of a “few feet” to be considered black or DB. Unless it’s super steep, tight, dropping into switch or D all the above at the same time. I’ve hit plenty man made doubles and tables with it. But it’s a trail bike. Not an all mountain bike. And I can’t justify an X2 or coil (even 11-6) on 135mm of rear. Flat flowy trails are sick though.

ooorrrr.. santa cruz could just refresh the LT with a seat angle that isnt a lawn chair and a 65 HA. I loved my hightower in the stock XO1 config riding blue and green trails. i tried to burly it up for black trails (monarch plus, tires, cush core, 35 stem, tall bars) but it just doesnt work...

The tires worked very well in Moab's ledgy terrain. They're FAR less wobbly/vague than a plus tire. As I mentioned in my response to jsray above, they might be a little mushy in fast berms, however. I didn't have an opportunity to hit any while in Moab. (They don't...more
The Scout is a very fun machine, though it's a bit limited when things gets hairy. I can't see myself rallying it through the rough like the Mach 5.5. You can read more in our review.

this bike seems to be as close as ever to the cliche "do everything, one quiver" bike. with moto and bmx roots i love berms and jump trails. with an X2 would this 140mm rear end still handle bike park jump lines?
