I think a big difference for us US based fans is that the Super Bowl is on Sunday at 3pm while most World Cup races air at 3am so by default a large majority of us watch the replay 6 to 16 hours later. Props for keeping the results out of the headlines and hopefully no podium pic on instagram stories,...more

Typically I visit Vital and PB every day. If there was a race on the weekend that I wasn't able to watch (and sometimes won't find time to watch for a week or more) then I avoid visiting Vital until I've seen the race because I've had results spoiled on this site in headlines and winning bike article...more

I’m in the don’t post the results in the headlines camp. I avoid Vital from race morning until I’ve gotten to watch the race, which could be days later, and visit PB instead. That way I can keep enjoying all the other bike related stuff but not have the race semi ruined for me.

It wouldn't be that difficult to make the headline read "race results here," Instead of "Bob Bitchin' wins the race," would it? I mean, that way, the various editors of the news outlets can continue to make the world a better place for Peter. And the rest of us would be clicking the link anyway.

You can fiercely defend your position all you want. The reality is spoiling races is going to pull traffic away from your website. And posting an inflammatory defense of the strategy and telling us we're all babies for wanting to both enjoy the suspense of our favorite sporting event AND still get to...more

Added a comment about press release $2,061,000 IS UP FOR GRABS IN 2019 - INTENSE PODIUM PAYBACK PROGRAM 2/27/2019 10:11 AM

You forgot age divisions.

So it's potentially:
$500 pro men
$500 pro women
$500 vet men
$500 vet women
$500 open women
$500 Junior X guys
$500 Junior X girls
$3000 for 6 age divisions in men's expert
$3000 for 6 age divisions in women's expert
$3000 for 6 age divisions in men's sport
$3000 for 6 age divisions in women's sport

So that's $15,500 per race, per discipline. 3 disciplines means $46,500 per race weekend. 40 race weekends means $1,860,000

Obviously there's a ton of caveats (everyone has to be riding Intenses, some races might have more or less age divisions, etc.).

Still short of $2M though.

Added a comment about press release Pole Announces Enduro Squad with Matti Lehikoinen as Team Manager, Plus a New Bike 12/7/2018 1:26 PM

A video on the Pole website says it's offset 15mm. Still seems like you'd smack your leg on it. But I'd assume you can get different mounting hardware to mount in normally, probably at the cost of water bottle clearance.

Taking away (most of) the riders' creativity and vision in putting together the lines would ruin everything that's awesome about Rampage.

At the end of the day, I don't really care who won or who should have one. I'm just there to watch a bunch of guys throw down. And they did that. Every single one of them.

I have some vague recollection of Greg Minnaar talking about how matching the stem length to the fork's offset makes everything ride better. This sort of makes sense to me, although I can't put my finger on why it should make sense. But just from my ... more »

Getting on a super long reach bike feels stable in a straight line, but starts to feel unwieldy when I've gotta make the bike do something other than fly straight. Not to mention the longer front end tends to make my back hurt on longer pedals. I'd rather ... more »

My guess is that the "Boxxer 29" is actually Boxxer legs and internals with a Lyrik Boost casting and custom crowns. Why? Get your rags ready, because your heads about to explode; that looks like a 15mm axle.
