toast2266 Added a reply to Should You Reverse Your Stem? - Reece Wilson Setup Analysis
5/13/2026 7:49am I got a Raaw about a year ago and I've come to appreciate the benefits of the higher stack and longer stays. But it took me a bit to adjust to it, and I'm not convinced that making the stack substantially higher along with a shorter reach would be beneficial. There are times when I'm trying to move forward on...

5/7/2026 2:50pm The telepathy bike has about 30mm of rearward movement at sag. It's designed with an axle path meant to mimic the fork's axle path and maintain a constant wheelbase. Haven't ridden it, so can't say if they're onto something there. I had a 1st gen Canfield Jedi. I think that thing had around 25mm rearward movement at sag. It cornered...

5/5/2026 7:05pm Yeah, Wyn crashed on a jump further down. There were obviously some issues there, but the jump itself wasn't the problem in Wyn's case.

5/1/2026 8:08am just rewatched some of the La Thuile track walk from last year and the comments from the racers are the same. It’s raw and will change a lot once it gets ridden

4/23/2026 1:50pm I've maintained or gained confidence through overly stiff, even if I can get a bit beat up or bounced off line, while flex shows up unexpectedly and steals confidence. Also, stiffness can sometimes be tuned down through other parts, while flex usually cannot be made more stiff.

4/23/2026 12:37pm If it's too flexy, I struggle to ride the bike confidently. The bike wiggles in unpredictable ways. If it's too stiff, I might have a hard time going as fast as I potentially could, but it's not for a lack of confidence or predictability in the machine. I'll take a bike that's too stiff. Too flexy also means I'm one...

3/5/2026 8:27am Both of the stems you listed are cold forged, meaning they are forged at room temperature. As far as forging goes, this way is slightly more optimum for resulting grain structure/strength then flow formed or cast. Since the manufacturing method is the same for both of these stems, you're paying for the surface finishing of bead blasting and painted vs anodized. What you're paying for is the surface finishing to prep for anodizing and the anodized finishing. If you would add their top of the line Riza stem to the question/equation, then what you're paying for there is CNC machining...

toast2266 Added a reply to Tweener: make a small bike big, or a big bike small
2/19/2026 10:35am I'm 5'9" with long-ish arms and legs. Rode mediums for years, but have been on larges for the last 5 or so. Currently on a large Raaw Madonna and feel like it's the "right" size. Getting on a medium feels small and twitchy. Somewhere around a 475-480 reach, 510-515 effective top tube, and 445-450 chainstay feels good for me. As...

2/10/2026 7:51am I agree with others that 35-50mm is a safe bet, and that the guy in the video you posted is a bit of a kook. I'm running a 60mm stem on my long travel bike, which is clearly "the wrong size," and it's fine. The reach length of the bike is a little shorter than I'd prefer, so I made it feel longer with the long stem. I've got a 40mm stem on my shorter travel bike (because it has a slightly longer reach length than I'd prefer), and it takes roughly zero feet for me to get used to...

GO-RIDE Liked a comment about Feature Orbea's Rallon RS - An E-Bike That's Not for E-Bikers
1/28/2026 2:15pm I hear that a lot at our bike shops in the SLC, UT area. However, I know a lot of gravity oriented riders that use their eBikes for more out of season training laps and still ride their Amish bikes for racing and park days. I have access to a few nice eBikes, but still put way more miles in on my Amish bikes.

1/28/2026 2:14pm This is where I thought e-bikes would go when they first started to gain popularity, a bike with a splash of assistance, not a motor with a frame attached to it

1/15/2026 8:01am Looks like Daprela is without a team? Rogue Racing is Unno now, and he's not listed. Kinda surprising for a guy that had multiple top 10 finishes last year. Seems like his prior issues continue to haunt him.

1/6/2026 2:44pm As someone who was there from the very beginning (okay EWS #2), I think the story arc of EWS/EDR is a bit more complex that people think, and that Chis Ball is not the boogie man some make him out to be. EWS was not just Chis Ball, it was a run by a board, with Chis as the most public facing member of the organization. Keep in mind that in 2013 enduro racing was seen as an exciting new sport (yes I know, it wasn't new in France and Italy) and the timing was perfect with new wheel sizes...

1/6/2026 2:43pm Regurgitated post from another thread but this EDR grieving thread seems appropriate... EWS/EDR is mostly directly supported by the COMMUNITY of riders that are actively participating in Enduro racing, not random bored YouTube and HBO algorithm drifters. At least to me the most successful period of EWS was when there was a well promoted international web of qualifier events and 100/80 events along side the Elite races. People could actually aspire to racing an elite event and the pathway was clearly defined. Or there was the option to race an 80 to justify the trip out to watch elites Sunday...

1/6/2026 2:39pm If Dak goes to Scott, they better make him one of those stupid integrated stem / bar combos with 75 mm rise. And then run the brake cables through it just to stay on message.
