Your implication is that absolutely nothing at all has to be put in place of the removed parts. The SRAM X01 11 speed I removed was about 510 grams total on the rear wheel.
But nevertheless, it was an approximation. Even if you use 600 grams as the weight difference, the point remains that it's a small portion of the total weight back there. The fact that I added about 400 grams going to Linkglide Di2, and the suspension got better, is also an indication that something else is at play back there.

What would a team use these for on a race weekend? Would this be used post rebuild to determine if the suspension product is still working as intended or for chasing results on shim changes? I’m so in the dark.

Yeah it would mainly be used for diagnosing issues or validating a retune - In theory a dialed team would have tunes worked out in advance or have shocks ready to go, and you should have processes refined enough that you don't need to check that a rebuild worked properly. You wouldn't/shouldn't be experimenting with big changes on a race weekend but if you were someone that worked on a range of products for a wider range of people, or taking it to dedicated test weekends then it is something that could be super useful. I've occasionally had to set up bikes for people with brand new dampers that I haven't had access to in advance, so if I can get a picture of damping range before hand it can speed up the testing process for sure.

I have one. So far so good. Suspension performance is great up and down the hill, of the high pivots I’ve tried the pedaling efficiency is at or near the top of the list. Lots of options for shock length to suit riding style, and it’s SO quiet out on the trail. Only downside so far is heavy overall weight

afaik it was said it comes with 2028 bikes so fall 27 the earliest . i plan to ride my velduro another season and then hopefully they have a avinox mg version of the rogue and offer a framekit again to switch over all the parts

Can you get a decent length dropper in there? The stated insertion lengths sound shortish, but the seat tube looks decently straight, and sometimes one can squeeze a little extra length than what's stated on a geo sheet.
