ALBERT 2.5 GRAVITY ULTRA SOFT first ride Reading all the comments here about the Alberts and having just recovered from a BMX crash a month ago, I hopped on my bike almost scared that I would go down on faster berms because of the Albert's vagueness and too-soft casing that many were mentionning in the forums. I was previously riding...

Had a pretty big ride on the new 2.4 Trail Romy radial, just because it’s quite a bit shorter than the Albert I went up 1 psi, I’m impressed by the grip, after the first ride it measures 60mm knob to knob, gained 2mm from when freshly mounted. It rolls considerably faster than the Albert, I can make it drift/slide without forcing it with the brakes unlike the Albert, still great traction on tech/slippery climbs and great braking traction on the way down too, really nice tyre

If you want to browse the full menu of new Deore mechanical groupset + brakes, here are all the deets - https://www.vitalmtb.com/forums/hub/shimano-deore-m7200m6200-mechanical… My initial thoughts without having hands on the product yet: Pricing= good. High potential for a clanking derailleur = bad. New brake lever = clean 🤜🤛

They are quite tall. On my RXF38m.2, clearance at the arch is pretty limited, especially when running a mudguard. The RRP Proguard didn't have enough clearance to run it safely, so I have found the Mudhugger is the best for clearance on that fork. On my '26 Marzocchi Z1 there is ample clearance though.

Just installed the new tires on e*thirteen LG1 DH wheels. A few observations on the casing/fit: The CushCore install was a bit of a mixed bag. Starting out, getting the bead to stay put was a little trickier than usual—the tire constantly wants to pop back out and escape, so it requires a slightly different technique to keep it seated early on. However, the final stretch was actually easier. Getting that last stubborn section over the rim lip was surprisingly smooth. The casing definitely feels more compliant and flexible than a Michelin (though honestly, anything feels flexible compared to a...

The etiquette piece might be my single biggest grievance from the ebike crowd. I'm a big guy and climbing is not my strength, so I have PLENTY of experience with being passed on the uptrails by both regular and ebike riders. The ebike riders are exponentially worse at saying excuse me, on your left, or simply making some noise to let you know they're behind you. I've even seen groups of ebike riders talking and laughing about how fast they're cruising past other riders at the top of the climb. These aren't new riders. At the end of the day...

Guys, I know you don't want to hear this... but the racks on that new Levo 4 X monstrosity are really cool. Those ugly Levo X racks move all of the cargo on the bike from unsprung mass to sprung mass. As forum dwellers, we should all be able to appreciate why that's going to ride better, even if the XX cranks, the paint job, and the S-works price point are all serious headscratchers. If you don't believe me, check out this writeup from Travis Engel at the Radavist on a similar front rack design that he bodged together on...

+1 on mount and shred them! I think the unforgiving cornering you reference has more to do with the overall knobs geometry than just the height. Big Betty sideknobs are quite square and wide. Whereas the TC, with a more open leading edge corner, allows corner entry to be less aburpt. Also now that the TC has a more widley spaced pattern on the tread cap for the 2.5" radial version, it also has less off a dead spot. When you add in the radial casing defelction, it's pretty much elimianted. Compare that to the cornering behaviour of a Big...

Yesterday I spoke with a guy who rode a couple of EDRs and would always ride xtr mech since forever but he was on a sram. He said not only the chain slap was unbearable on the new di2 xtr but he would also drop chains pretty much daily, to the extend the top of his crank which cought the chain became all scratched... The shifting was absolutely amazing but the reliability is horrible and he also noticed shimano sponsored enduro pros would run full dh chain tensioners or STFUs just to keep the chain on, which is mindboggling how...
