9/3/2026 9:01am I support my local bike shop even if the costs are a little higher sometimes. If we want to see the sport continue in the ways we want to see it continue, we have to help fund it. $10 for a broadcast is fine when I can spend $10 on a not-very-good mocktail. Skip a drink or two out at a restaurant and it's handled. I should drink less sugar, anyway.

17 hours ago RE: Beyond Gravity This is fucking sick in several ways. While chasing money isn't any of the riders top priority it is rad to see a payout that isn't peanuts. Secondly, its cool to have a way to give back to the athletes. Additionally I already pay to watch the broadcast, but I doubt that any of my subscription $$$...

9/3/2026 8:44am Worth noting- broadcast pricing is planned to start at ~$10 USD (depending on exchange rate at the time). This won’t be a normal race broadcast as you know it- we are building out a full show, and when racing goes live we’ll have 40+ cameras on course.

9/3/2026 8:44am Here we go, the all-new "Beyond Gravity" race in Maydena has just been announced, with a new event model that aims to provide a generous prize purse and a share in broadcast revenues for the athletes. You can read all the details here: https://www.vitalmtb.com/forums/hub/190000-prize-purse-minimum-beyond-g…. TLDR: The race will use most of the Red Bull Hardline course, but with added focus on rider safety and weather-proofing of many sections. Rider numbers will be low with 25 invited riders (including both male and female riders) + 5 local wild cards who will act as reserves during the week. There's impressive potential for...

9/2/2026 10:31pm I can add a bit more being on the design team for this bike. We can do a better job at calling out the "why" in the short press release. There will be upcoming videos talking about it, but here it is from the design side of things. As bike designers we are constrained by the shape of the motor and battery. We can't change these designs. Riders are wanting bigger batteries (800wh in this bikes case). We also have great demand to fit more shocks, from inline, to the largest enduro and coil shocks. We have to have fork...

1 day ago I think with hardline, they want major changes every three years so the course doesn’t get stale. Which, is rad. But also, that course is rad as hell too, and it sucks to loose it. Really they need to get this global series off the ground, develop 15 amazing venues and then race 6-8 of them a year. That way...

9/1/2026 4:13pm What is the relevance of having a ”vertical shock”? Why does it matter? At some point I have heard a newbie say that he is looking for a bike and he had found a Santa Cruz, but he didn't like it because it has no ”vertical shock”. I laughed and explained to him that it doesn't matter so much in the grand scheme of things for a shock to be ”vertical”. Now I see this on my favorite MTB site. Is it a Pinkbike-ish ”wAtEr bOtTLe sPaCe iS sOmEtHiNG i LiVe aNd diE fOr”? Thanks, Mx

9/1/2026 10:49am Can you imagine watching a 12 hour live stream ultra race? My own mom wouldn't watch that if I was winning.

Would love to see some behind the scenes footage. That must have been wild to film.

8/31/2026 3:51pm Dude 13k is nuts, I feel accomplished when I hit 6. I have partaken in a voluntary lay down trail side more then once when my thighs start cramping. One time was during a solo night ride. Boy did I feel dump for MANY reasons. Took a solid 20 minutes before I was good to go.

8/31/2026 1:49pm I think you of all people should have been STOKED on the 4x champs racing. Watching Neko use excellent race craft to hang on to a wheel and then out power dudes at the end. Sounds like you're not even giving it a chance tbh
