As someone who hasn’t followed the edr much in the last few years, I was really impressed with the coverage this weekend. Elliot does a great job presenting. The venue looked sick. The “old” guard is gone, but the riding is still top level. I hope brands can get some shredits made of their athletes so we can learn about...
In the current climate of all eMTB talk involving the "A" word, it's refreshing to hop on a rig powered by the "B" word. Combine that with a svelte drive system that emphasizes a mountain-bike-like trail experience, high-end RockShox Ultimate suspension and a sleek full-carbon frame and you have the 160mm travel Kona Remote 160 CR, which has been ridden by a few different Vital testers for the past few months. Highlights Frame Material: Carbon Fiber Travel: 160mm front and rear Wheel Size: 29" (tested) for MD-XL, SM 29 / 27.5 - all sizes mixed-wheel compatible Motor: Bosch Performance Line...

The dull ache. Walk around for a day with your elbow tucked in. Empty the dishwasher with your other hand. Watch out when you wake up, that’s when it’s loosest. Feels okay in the shower, until…dammit why did you get so wild on the towel-off?—you know that’s dangerous! Maybe sit up a little straighter on the drive out there, yeah you can kinda just make sure to heel it tucked a bit. Still strong. Got this. Just take it sorta easy and we’ll break out the stretchy bands again on Monday. Of course. This’ll never happen again. Duh. oh well...

Any chance you have the pic's from that full pipe? I havn't watched the video yet so apologies if its in there. Side question, how many of us are at work, scrolling biking sites and hoping the boss doesn't notice the glazed over look in our eyes. Sick vid! I know yall are both busy, but I feel you guys should link up for an inside line. Would love to hear more about sketchy filming missions.

Yes, if you're located in the US, this is the way. If you can't find a dealer that's within driving distance, most shops will happily ship a shoe if they have your size in stock and it's out of stock everywhere else, and Specialized dealers almost always honor the (insanely low) price on the website. All my friends on flat pedals swear by the 2FO DH because it's as sticky as the old Impacts and it has a stiff shank too, which are two impossibly hard qualities to find in the same shoe these days since the death of the...

hahaha I still hate leading. Luca and I rode Laguna on Sunday and we were still playing the 'no you go, no you go' game.

Wild throwback! I remember being so star struck that we were shuttling with Semenuk. He was as cool and mellow as imagined, and about twice as fast on a DH bike as expected. That day was definitely a core memory for me. I always wonder if Brandon even remembers spending a day riding some meh trails with a bunch of downhill groms that were riding way too hard to try and impress him lol

I noticed this too as I just blew out my second to last pair. I bet they had a glut of product left over from the covid boom and everything was on deep discount. Sucks because those are stellar shoes for an amazing price. Wish I would have bought 4-5 pairs instead of two.

This is pretty much my philosophy as well. I'm one of the few weirdos that was never willing to give up gripshift, so it's on all my Eagle drivetrains, and it is simple to fly through gears as fast as you want will spinning at low power. With any significant power, you better be good at easing up strategically during shifts though, or suffer the brutal clicking and popping noises that ensue. I think the marketing info that preceded the release of T-type indicated that it was designed with e-bikes in mind, where shifting under significant loads was expected, and...

I know you're not going to want to hear this, but: On these SPD test rides, have you tried thinking about something other than your feet? If you focus on your feet while you're in clips, they're going to feel weird if you're used to flats, and weird is likely going to progress to bad and then terrible the more you think about it. I remember my first few rides on clips, coming from flat pedals. Those first few rides were on Shimano SPD pedals that felt icy exactly like you describe. But then, over next few weeks, I did...

After some more reflection and since this hit the front page I have a few more additions. I'm glad people enjoyed the post and it's fun to share the experience. Trails: Mid-guard is somehow always in primo shape and is like a blue version of Del boca, for sure worth it. Combine with Spin-Gnar to Call me Maybe to BCC for a great mix of tech/corners into creekside. There is nothing safe about captain safety. Original Sin - Blue Velvet - Fatcrobat - Too Mushroom - Too Tight (or D1 if you're a shredder). This is a great single black...

I just got back from a week long trip to whistler where due to some family issues (sick pet) and friends cancelling last minute, I was mostly riding alone. I had a buddy join me for a few hours on 2 days, but other than that, I was left alone with my mediocre riding skills and my thoughts. With this much time alone, you tend to develop an inner monologue of Hot Takes... and since I had no one to share these with, I am coming here to plop them down. I also don't use social media because of a...
