7/30/2026 12:39pm I am in the Alps right now, in Morzine, just over the hill from Les Gets. We are a long way from Bordeaux and no sign of smoke etc. Hope the various wildfires across Europe can be brought under control and everyone stays safe, but don't expect it to affect the WC.

7/30/2026 12:54am Or another way of putting it, most of the big wildfires are on the west coast. I was in the Alps earlier this month and the only disruption we could've had was increased traffic on the drive back up to St Malo (north west). I suspect it will all be fine for the WC happening.

7/28/2026 2:57pm I know it's the highest spec model, but it's still a little refreshing to see a longer travel (enduro light?) complete bike that is around 30lbs. Nowadays, it seems like downcounty bikes are hovering around 30lbs and longer travel bikes are 35+. As someone who likes to do big days in the saddle, it's nice to see some new bikes attempt to keep the weight down.

7/25/2026 1:13am I know it can feel like the phone is listening to you but that would break a bunch of laws- actually what’s happening is your friend is interested in a topic, companies have mapped your social circle and know you both hit the same WiFi network/voluntarily gave them your location, so they can make a guess that you spoke about x thing that they’re in to. A lot of data driven marketing is about linking up data sets like this, arguably it’s more skeevy than directly listening to you but there we are.

7/18/2026 9:26pm Here's my experience on the new Maven B1 I decided to try out the B1 Mavens after my Radics started losing pressure (both side MC bores had scratches). I previously had a set of maven A1's last season, but decided to go with the Radics due to them feeling better in the stand (I nerd out on my bike more than I ride it). I've always used steel brake hoses with the Mavens that Radic uses. This is just due to them looking way cooler, there's zero noticeable difference in feel compared to original Sram hoses. I've also only used...

7/10/2026 12:26am Have you tried running recommended pressure with 2 spacers? I wonder if that would give you the support you want without introducing harshness. I have found that 2 spacers is my max to maintain the comfort/plushness I prefer. I generally run no spacers, stock eyelet volume spacer, and 16mm sag (30%). This is the best for pure DH performance. It keeps the bike calmer and tracking better. The downside is it can be a less responsive and feeling slow on flatter, pump-heavy trails. I also have Genie Float X with LSC, and cranking that closed does help add some support.

7/10/2026 12:24am How many of those DH teams do you think would be running gearboxes right now if there wasn't a €100k carrot being dangled before them?

6/30/2026 7:32am I think people are really missing out on a lot of benefits when they don't stand up for at least steeper parts of a climb, you use so much higher gear for this technique that you get to the top much faster, using different muscle spectrum to get there so spreading the fatigue more evenly between them is also pretty good benefit. It takes some time to learn proper technique, sure, I would be surprised if even very average Joe would need more than 10 decent rides to figure it out and benefit for the rest of his riding life.

6/27/2026 3:32pm I did something similar with the Fox Enduro Pro pads (which come with a paper thin level 1 Koroyd insert): I took level 2 Rheon inserts from a set of torn Rapha pads and stuck them in the Fox. The Rheon inserts are physically a little larger so I kind of have to massage the sleeve a bit after putting them on, but after that they fit great and feel much more "Enduro" appropriate.

6/27/2026 5:01am I’d love to learn from the group on Genie setup and what people are actually running. For context, I’m on a 2024 SJ15 (non-EVO), ~200 lbs geared, and this is my only bike. I’d say I’m a solid intermediate rider, but not someone who’s super sensitive to suspension changes—I tend to adapt pretty quickly rather than clearly prefer one setup over another. I ride a bit of everything here in Northern California, but I definitely not sending it. So far: Only tried the medium headset cup I like both high and low chainstay settings for different reasons On the shock...

6/27/2026 5:01am I’m on a Evo with the Float X Genie. 78kg ready to ride. Bike came with 0 bands installed. Felt nice but also felt like I was sitting too much into the travel. Added 1 band a made a small improvement but still deeper than I’d normally like. Up’d the pressure from recommended 200 to 210 but it just became...

6/27/2026 2:05am Two days of racing await the EDR field in Val di Fassa this weekend, for the third round of the 2026 World Cup. Canazei always serves up a real test, with high altitude starts, rough and natural trails, and lifts that allow for accessing more vert. Racing gets underway today, Saturday June 27 - here's a look at what happened during training to get you into the action:

6/23/2026 10:06pm " Interestingly, it seemed to happen more often when I drove from the sea level to e.g. Lake Tahoe - so from zero to 6-7k feet of elevation." I've battled this on a few pairs of maven's and it simply means your bleed procedures are not working with the maven's. I am stopping short of saying that your bleed procedures are bad or incorrect... I had zero issues bleeding all types of mtb brakes for the better part of 22ish years prior to mavens. However, I had the same problem on 2 sets of mavens where they would be fine...
