So much hatred towards BK. I don't understand it. He does a lot for the sport, and his private relationships – which are discussed a lot here, and where everyone is entitled to their opinion, just like with sausage, politics and art – shouldn't really matter. He does more for the sport than all the keyboard warriors here in the forum.

My two cents. I like watching “second tier” riders right along side the pointy end dudes. Especially when you get to see a rider develop over a few seasons. The rider that starts to qualify more regularly, then becomes a top 15-20 dude, then top 10, and finally a podium threat. I like to see this on the same courses as Loic and Jackson, it gives me scale. I love WC racing, I pay to watch. I am not going to suddenly start paying close attention to IXS Cups. I’ll look at the results of a Monster Energy Series race...

Funny enough, I trimmed and bled a pal's Elixir for brake issues this weekend (yes, we talked about how updating the brakes would be a good idea). Anyway, the brake with the kinked hose was working-ish. The kink was bad enough to cause a fluid restriction, so the pistons wouldn't return the way they're supposed to. This of course meant a real short lever stroke and pad rubbing. Nipped the hose down a smidge, new comp bushing and bled and the brake feels fine. Power wasn't an issue, just brake functionality. His was bad enough that I didn't feel 'rounding"...

I have had this happen on my SRAM setup where the kink was bad enough to cause brake loss. The plastic tube in the brake hose kinked at the sharp head tube routing exit and starting leaking fluid in the housing. Kinda like a pinch flat within the hose. No external fluid loss but enough to cause pressure loss in the system. Some frames like speciazlied have a sharp exit port which I now sand a little bit to make it smoother. Kevlar lined hoses are more resilient because when the same happened to my Intend hose it kept working...

Can’t answer the question about the hose softness, but wanted to chime in and say it’s unlikely that the kinked lines are causing any power issues. I’ve ridden with some pretty severe kinks with no problems…

How am I chatting shit I said I like him but I’m a realist and just giving my view, I want him on a good team and I think he should move and it should be the a US team. He’s a patriot and FM is the coolest fit for him with Neko, Asa and Anna, full US team I think they would do well in the team overall and I personally believe Asa will have loads to say about the overall for himself.

I quite enjoy the Oak lever. the stiffer lever feeling helps a bit (IMO) and almost feels like there is more power with less force while pulling hard on the brakes. in Canada Pro MCs are quite expensive with tariff and everything so made more sense for me going with Oak. Having less free stroke would be a nice upgrade tho.

Edit: Apologies if this is repetitive to others reading this, I just wanted to try and be clear. And I forgot to add, building community is hard. An app does nothing by itself, but the infrastructure an app provides create the opportunity to more easily scale something that is like community. This isn't field of dreams, and building it alone does not solve the problem. But its a start. Quick clarification: This isn't Strava with privacy - yes, it has similar features with respect to activity tracking and navigation but it's also organized race events, multiple formats, varying timing windows...

Two points of clarification: First - the use case: This isn't competing with professional timing systems. Those will always be better for sanctioned events, and that's great. This fills the gap between Strava segments and weekend races - think Thursday night softball, not the championship game. It's rec-league MTB/moto where renting timing equipment is a non-starter, but showing up with the device in your pocket is totally feasible. We've already proven this works in our town, but again, there are holes (and big privacy concerns). Second - accuracy requirements: For rec-league, ±1.5 seconds is fine.
