The thing is it's unridable in the wet without these berms, so now the track is not so technical, and mostly only steep. As you said they did a great job cutting some corners. But if you want to have fun, I can suggest everybody tries to ride champery in the wet. I did it twice, and twice I had fear for most of it. It's maybe not so great to watch, but it will make a great race I think.

I’m all for that Sworks. Mega price, but they’ll all sell and your LBS will do well put of it if they manage to get one. There’s a ton of sweet parts and that paint job plus the Sworks (M-Sport/AMG) badge and a few more torques from the drive unit. Go take a look at the Pivot Shuttle LT($14499) if you want to see an actual rip off. Lots of own brand parts and low spec components (e.g. GX pod rather than XO/Ultimate). We priced it up at work and the parts even at retail only come to £8k, which...

Yep - me too. Came here to see the comments about it but apparently bashing bike manufacturers for making expensive top of the range eebs is more interesting.. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I don’t understand this sentiment. Spec still makes a bike at a price point for you, now they add a bike that means they will actually make money and can continue making the bike you want. But then they are lame for that. Imagine driving a Ford Focus and then you start shitting on ford because they build the GT40? Or maybe this would be more equivalent to driving an f150 XL then you whine because they build an F150 Lariat

I've tried to avoid getting sucked into this conversation but I'll add my 2c worth: Having a good initial spring rate (sag) is essential for the rest of the setup steps to proceed correctly for the average user. The sag IMO is not a be all and end all, but you need to be within +/- 5% of the correct spring rate for your weight as a starting point, as long as you are withing that area, the dials can compensate somewhat for the slight margin of error. From there on you need to adjust to your preferences, but at...

I did this on my S4 last-gen stumpy EVO to get the seat forward. At first I only filed the upper seat rail clamp with a round file so the saddle rails could go maybe 5mm further forward. After cutting it’s more like 10-15mm forward. This is a weird old reverb prototype and I had extra set of clamps so cut some off- been working fine for 6 months cut like this.

Just on using Strava for tracking mileage, have you seen ProBikeGarage? It’s an app that hooks into strava and can track mileage and hours - it’s great for service intervals etc. Would be pretty cool if Jeff could work out a way to allow Rali(?) to connect to it?

We usually get the race reports sent out to us after day 1, but our inboxes remained empty for this one. You're right though, we should have posted something about it regardless. We'll fix that right now!

Just to give you guys a quick update - I am fully pausing on rolling out further beta testing simply because you guys helped me see there is a much better opportunity here than I maybe thought originally. I want to ship something that is really useful, and that you all really find value in, which means I need to bring in some real software engineers to tighten some of the code and make sure the product meets expectations. Plus, its very clear to me I'll need to be shipping android versions alongside iOS. Feel free to put feature &...

This is a big one. I recently have been building a mini-enduro trail network, meaning that really only the downhills are fun and worth timing, but the short trail length means that I can't create segments for the DH, and must include part of the climb. Older segments can still exist, but I can't create new short ones in Strava.

Personally what I'd love to see as a starting point is a strava alternative for recording rides and being able to have control over privacy for segments (to use their terminology..) From there I think you'd see a decent number of Strava users moving across. Where I live there are no official trails at all, everything is unsanctioned so when...
