7/23/2026 6:36am All i can confirm here is that it does not look like someone took a chainsaw to it, but they have not taken a spartan approch to the design. I think it's going to create a big bang when it drops.

7/16/2026 9:29am I'm pretty sure Hannah Bergman is on Nike ACG. Not sure if there are any other riders at this point, though.

7/13/2026 8:29am Loic, Finn and Jordan dynamics aside, it's still wild to me that a company the size of Specialized doesn't have an elite woman on the elite downhill team.

7/10/2026 10:48am I'm waiting for drivetrain-free systems to catch on. Aaron Gwin demonstrated the benefits of pedal-free DH long ago, but sponsorship for that approach seems to be lacking. Imagine, no DR, no cassette, no chain, freedom to use any crank length or even pegs if you want.

7/10/2026 10:48am Could you imagine a DH series with no pedaling allowed? I think they do that for the pump-track world series. We also have a chainless category for our local beer league DH series and it's the most fun. 10/10 would support a move to chainless DH races. Ha ha.

7/7/2026 6:28am All this drivetrain efficiency/Gearbox discussion is making me think about the joy I get from riding my singlespeed.

7/6/2026 7:02am Most people I pedal with are on either dh or dd casing tires out here in Alberta. The Rockies are not kind to weak tires.

7/2/2026 9:56am I typically use the climb switch once per ride. I like to turn it on halfway up the climb when I remember I have it and might as well use it. I tend to turn it off halfway down the descent when I’m puzzling over why my suspension isn’t working. I suspect I am not in the minority.

6/25/2026 6:24am I miss those races so much. Such a good time, great racing, great people, me running around with either a whiskey or tequila bottle forcing people to take shots, and as always the funny looks my Nicolai thru axle track bike would get.

6/25/2026 6:24am A properly supported Angel on a winning bike is someone who has been able cross the line in the green in the past. Angels had some rough luck over the years with weird team dynamics, teams folding, and injury. I'd love to see 2-3 seasons of that guy healthy and supported.

6/12/2026 6:59am I was listening to a road biking podcast recently. One of the guests on the podcast is currently a DS for a bigger team and used to be a world tour rider. One of the things that came up in discussion is how absolutely insane the new generation of riders are. They are SO fast. They are SO good in their training. They are SO dialed in their nutrition and recovery. The guest made a point to bring up an interesting-to-me factoid: They can't let the younger riders anywhere near the big-name riders during team training rides. None of them...

6/11/2026 7:22am The etiquette piece might be my single biggest grievance from the ebike crowd. I'm a big guy and climbing is not my strength, so I have PLENTY of experience with being passed on the uptrails by both regular and ebike riders. The ebike riders are exponentially worse at saying excuse me, on your left, or simply making some noise to...

6/4/2026 10:20am Torrent is clean. Bottle rocket is adjustable freeride. Quake is a capable race geo. (Iirc) Different bikes for different folks . I freeride and park my race bikes - and xc ride my enduro bike. But the world does seem to want FUN 27.5 park bikes and the racers do seem to want FAST DH WEAPONS. Why can’t we have both? The marketing isn’t even for us. There are literally armies of 15 year old boys AND GIRLS! Getting really into modern freeride, just riding down shit and off shit and being park rats in jnco jeans where I live...
