I spent a good chunk of last night trying to evaluate DJI's move through the lens of business and corporate strategy. While it might sound far-fetched, I genuinely believe DJI could be making a move that fundamentally changes the landscape of the e-mtb industry. A few thoughts: Amflow: I have it on good authority that Fox's number one customer is Amflow. If true, that should signal to the industry that Amflow is not a demo product. It's a company going after the likes of Specialized, Trek, Giant and other major incumbents. To add, there is nothing holding them back from...

Unfortunately I'm an idiot, so I'll answer your question even if it is sarcastic. I found a known value that's easy to measure, the rear brake rotor. I set it to 203mm (as mentioned in a bike check from my memory) 16.2cm = 6.377 inch, rounded up however the app used rounds things and also not a perfect angle. Closest match for phone size would be a Iphone 16/17 pro max at 16.3 cm or a google pixel 9/10 at 6.3 inches. I'm going to go with the iphone 16/17 pro max. I should touch grass. I'm also either going...

Not sure how it's done in North America or even other places in Europe, but at least here in Slovenia ski resorts aren't the owners of the land under the groomed slopes. So this is a major problem making bike parks, agreeing on land access. Grooming snow on a meadow is a whole different ballpark than making dirt canals in said meadow, doubly so when cows graze there in the summer. As for ski resorts vs. bike park, skiing on-piste and riding bikes in a bike park aren't really analogues. When you take into account how technically demanding skiing is...

In line with the downtube storage talk, is there someone making flask/bottle for this purpose? Or do folks just use a running flask like the Hydraflask and hope the top fits in the downtube opening? I would genuinely be interested in a bike-specific version that I could throw in there for longer rides.
To go along with this, John Karrasch has been doing a lot of tire testing (via Chung method) and recently posted this one for free on his Patreon. 32" Aspen STs over rough cobbles were ~6% faster when you include rolling resistance (9% faster) and aero drag penalty of the larger wheel system. More 29” v 32” Aspen testing… Rough...

Here's a rough idea. I'm sure there are some details missing, and despite my best efforts, this rabbit hole has some twists. So you have Mark Hancock, co-founder of PACS Group, owner of 323 skilled nursing facilities in 17 states. Current net worth estimated at $2.4 billion. PACS went public on the NYSE in 2024 at $21/share, currently at ~$36.50, and Hancock reportedly still holds 35%. The chart, since IPO had some wild moments, but seems to be back on track. Obviously, a very successful entrepreneur at this stage. In April of 2024, Hancock's own PV3 Investments (later PV3 Enterprises)...

So something to note on pricing that is coming through. and this is not meant to be a political post. but the new steel tariffs HIGHLY affect bike prices. ESPECIALLY e-bikes. basically all the bike companies have to figure out the percentage of steel in a bike (HS, bearings, cassette, motors) and then that times the pricing of the bike etc. And these are not cheap... like some bikes increasing close to $1k just on tariff prices.... (cross posted in tech rumors)

As others have said, a few mm of travel difference doesn't change much of what you spec on a bike. Most components come in an XC-race (sometimes also trail/enduro,) and DH option - so why should there be more frames? Geometry has also largely converged with any non-XC/DC bike rocking a super slack head angle and steep seat tube angle...

I was genuinely intrigued and was thinking of buying one of his stems because the BMB ones are so damn expensive, but an advertisement that calls people who disagree "haters and low IQ" immediately kills any chance of sending money his way.

As someone who was there from the very beginning (okay EWS #2), I think the story arc of EWS/EDR is a bit more complex that people think, and that Chis Ball is not the boogie man some make him out to be. EWS was not just Chis Ball, it was a run by a board, with Chis as the most public facing member of the organization. Keep in mind that in 2013 enduro racing was seen as an exciting new sport (yes I know, it wasn't new in France and Italy) and the timing was perfect with new wheel sizes...

Not actually 2026 racing, and not MTB, but somehow Rob Warner is live commentating Average Rob's 'Turbo Cross' today (starting right now, Dec 22 at 1030 EST): Turbo Cross 2025 LIVE! THE MOST HYPED BIKE RACE OF THE YEAR! It's basically a sillier version of cyclocross with former pros and 'celebrities' (mostly YouTubers from Belgium/Netherlands).

Not a full power ebike, but I did a ride two years ago on a rental Fuel EXe (Gen1) at Glentress. Pretty sure it was a stock 9.7 (42 pounds ish) with the TQ 360Wh battery and TQ HPR5- motor, rider weight ~195 pounds with gear. I had not been on tech trails in a while so I kept to...
