It also looks like a chain that is a few links too long, surprising for a Transmission build

Wait, Specialized Gravity have a 'high protein' canned meat sponsor? Maybe that's what was hiding in the frame skirt all along, snacks for Loic and Finn mid-run. Time to make some tuna salad sandwiches to definitely get faster on the bike. /s On a serious note, I tried searching for 'Project Black' and Brembo but nothing concrete came up other...
One single AXS controller with three buttons - dropper, shift up and shift down. I'd go wireless if that existed.

Not in the bike industry, but in movies there is a correlation between how early reviews are released and eventual ratings on Rotten Tomatoes. The longer the gap is between the review release and theatrical debut, the higher the score is: Embargo dates and Rotten Tomatoes scores: What's the relationship? | Mashable This probably doesn't relate 1:1 with MTB, especially...

Hi all. I've been a very long-time lurker of this site and have used VitalMTB extensively when researching bike geometries and parts lists. I made my account here today just so I could join some discussions since the other site's forum is trash. Anyways, I'm a tire nerd myself. I started making this spreadsheet last year when I was searching for new tire combos for my Spartan HP and my Felt Decree 1. I just started cataloguing weights, widths, and casings. Where I live, there's no need for some super-duper-hardcore-heavy-sticky tires. This list will never end, and occasionally I add...

Silca is not releasing it;s newest product (mini-inflator) in the US due to tariffs: https://escapecollective.com/silca-elettrico-pumps/ Lots of good insight, and I thought this breakdown was really helpful "Ideal world: COGS: $42 Shipping: ~$2 Import Duties/Paperwork fees ~13%: $5.46 'Landed COGS': $49.46 Price to bike shop: $90/ Silca Gross Profit: $40.54 / 45% Retail: $149 / Bike Shop Gross Profit: $59 / 40% With Trump 45 Tariff on Chinese-made goods (2018): COGS: $42 Shipping: ~$2 Import Duties/Paperwork fees ~13%: $5.46 25% Trump 45 Tariff: $10.50 'Landed COGS': $59.96 Price to bike shop: $98/ Silca Gross Profit: $40.05 / 38.8% (42-45% is...

Helmets specifically designed for rounder heads like the ones Smith specifically make for snow sport helmets. 760mm length high rise carbon bars. Modular brake mount adapters. Instead of having a bunch of different brake adapters, its just extra legs and a couple different bolts.

My name is Luis Arraiz, I am a frame design engineer and specialize in bicycle vehicle dynamics, kinematics and geometry design. I was the founder of K9 Industries Ltd in 2005 in the UK. I worked at CSG (now Pon) from 2015-2023 where I was responsible for the geometry, kinematics and packaging for all the full suspension bikes both analogue and e-bikes for both Cannondale and GT bikes and also several GT hardtails. I introduced the concept of size specific geometry and kinematics for Cannondale dubbed “Proportional Response”. I am now back to the UK, where I am a senior...

I'm on a lot of B2B and B2C mailing lists, and e-mails about price increases and other tariff-related items are rolling in. The latest is Wahoo, who will be adding tariff surcharges to every product at retail and wholesale. They vary, but the surcharge on their latest product, the Trackr Radar, is $50 – effectively a 25% increase ($199 retail as of right now). Seems like a few brands aren't increasing advertised price, just tacking these surcharges on at checkout. Curious how that pans out. For example, I know I love it when I go to book a hotel for...

I'm kind of surprised that someone hasn't tried making a brand that has a highly adjustable frame in a few sizes (maybe a few years ago, not in today's economy). Something like what GG was doing with headset adjustment for reach (say +/-5mm) andhead angle (whatever +/- angle sets exist), as well as a suspension link adjustment for progression/rear length...

please don't respond about geo to this (or even respond at all), but just FYI, you can easily compare bikes and their geo in our product guide. here's a quick one i put together between a dreadnaught, firebird and sb165 - new bikes are being added all the time. https://www.vitalmtb.com/product/compare/64471,64876,50471?sizes%5B%5D=…

I posted a screenshot of a Strava map of the location of the new Whiteface DH course last fall. I recreated it in Caltopo, so here's some more info. Caltopo says it's 1.96 km and the WBD announcement says "almost 2 km", so the map checks out with that. https://caltopo.com/m/U5NVJVU

I think also that mtb riders as a whole are a somewhat conservative bunch. When I think of "proportional" rear center lengths being smaller movements than ideal I just see brands dipping their toes in and getting riders used to the idea of something. You could go MORE proportional and have the range be closer to 40mm difference in RC length between small and XL (10mm steps between sizes) but then that might cut off more riders than it gains. Think of how long it took riders to get comfortable with the current geometry style. Mondraker introduced their "forward geometry"...

Hi! This is my first post on this thread, but I have been reading for 2 years now. I talked with Sam pilgrim and a few other canyon guys at Tennessee Nationals, and also got to swing a leg over the Production New canyon sender. Supposedly the bike was supposed to release April 12 (that’s what Sam said, he also verified that it was the production version he was riding) so there’s a chance maybe it is releasing this month still? His bike had a baby blue color with white canyon letters. The (production?) bike also was equipped with the...

Anyone else stoked about the new fast Conti tires? I love fast rolling tires on my short travel trail / Downcountry bike and find Maxxis offerings are a bit on the heavy side. Right now my two favourite combos are Forekaster front / Rekon rear OR DHF DC front and Forekaster rear. These combos are 1,755g and 1,865g respectively (EXO/29x2.4) When looking at these new Conti tires, a Magnotal Soft front (855g) and Trinotal Grip rear (720g) for a total of 1,575g would be pretty rad.
