Thanks @Evil96 for the suggestion. 2.4 Romy Radial clears a Santa Cruz Hightower v4 frame. Second pic is the damage one ride did to the linkage when I was too lazy to change out 2.5 Albert.
I had my swingarm converted to UDH on the middle position I

Had a pretty big ride on the new 2.4 Trail Romy radial, just because it’s quite a bit shorter than the Albert I went up 1 psi, I’m impressed by the grip, after the first ride it measures 60mm knob to knob, gained 2mm from when freshly mounted. It rolls considerably faster than the Albert, I can make it drift/slide without forcing it with the brakes unlike the Albert, still great traction on tech/slippery climbs and great braking traction on the way down too, really nice tyre

Yeah the terms are disgusting. I call normal bike “free-range-non-gmo-organic-grass-finished bikes.”

Excuse my French, but could we fucking please stop calling bikes "analog", "acoustic", or -the worst I've heard- "bio"? Bikes are bikes. Ebikes are something else. Now get off my fucking lawn you punks!

The Albert performed SO poorly in the mud for me you'll slide off the trails LONG before you rub the paint off your links. 😄

you're going to need a lot more clearance if you ever find any mud on your trails, not just clearing the link by 1mm. I had a Bronson v2 with poor rear tire height clearance but it rubbed on the chainstay bridge. result was the same: better never find mud, or you're walking. I'd use a much shorter tire.

They are quite tall. On my RXF38m.2, clearance at the arch is pretty limited, especially when running a mudguard. The RRP Proguard didn't have enough clearance to run it safely, so I have found the Mudhugger is the best for clearance on that fork. On my '26 Marzocchi Z1 there is ample clearance though.

Romy 2.5 will give you more room for sure Tachy not sure, I installed a few now by it seems more aggressive than the 2.4 older one

I've been loving the Albert rear but on my new Santa Cruz Hightower, the intermediate knobs rub the lower linkage. This happens in the stand or when the shock is fully extended. At sag it is better but still not ideal. Apparently the Albert sits very tall which is why this happens. Others have experienced the same on their Megatower...

Yeah I don’t get it, shifts beautiful, great ergonomics, no clutch, like it was designed for bike paths

There is only so much grease you can pack before the rachets start binding up. Even if you do, it only lasts a few rides.

Jesus, sorry I asked about a coil shock on the new Tallboy.

Running less sag makes a bike track poorly on account of losing contact with the ground anytime there’s an indent the wheel has to go over. You see the same exact issue with people lifting vehicles to drive off road. They throw preload collars on and all of the sudden they feel the truck is harsher. The spring rate hasn’t gotten stiffer so why does it feel harsher? It’s losing contact with the ground and causing the chassis to pitch to allow a wheel to drop into a hole as soon as a hole is deeper than the amount of...

Few more days now on the Deg DF including a couple of days shuttling. I like it and it's made a noticable difference to the ride. The DEG hubs are noisy and for some reason they seem to have got louder with the DF installed. I don't know if it's that other stuff is quieter or just fresh service but.... If quiet hubs is on your wishlist e-13 might be the way to go....

I test rode a tallboy 6 over the weekend (5mi / 600' vert). It is really, really good. I have a ht4 that I love and I love vpp for longer travel bikes. I don't miss it on the new tallboy in the slightest. It goes uphill as well as the previous version with more traction when climbing square ledges and loose over hard... and goes downhill easily 30% better then the previous version. It is half way in between the tallboy 5 and my hightower 4 with regards to descending. Honestly, it's so good and so well rounded that...
